A delicious tonkatsu before leaving Japan. That was my thought. It was before dinner time, so I was able to get in easily. My suitcase was checked at the entrance. The tonkatsu set meal was, as expected, delicious. Of course, the tonkatsu was great, but the shredded cabbage and the clam miso soup were also delicious.
Narita Airport Tonkatsu 👨 The staff are very patient and extremely polite, and the seating area is clean. The tonkatsu is not as good as Saboten, but the overall dining environment and atmosphere are quite nice. 🆓 Cabbage refills are free.
Inaba Wakou, a tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) restaurant located in the restaurant area of Narita Airport's Terminal 2. I ordered the shrimp and loin cutlet set, substituting the clam soup for tonjiru (pork and vegetable stew). The piping hot shrimp cutlet was delicious with the tartar sauce, and the loin cutlet was great with the sauce. The tonjiru was also packed with ingredients, so the change was worth it. The price was a bit high, but it's to be expected at an airport.
It can get extremely crowded depending on the time of day. It might be tough if you don't have much time before your flight. The famous rice, cabbage, and clam soup are all refillable, and the cabbage feels fresh. The service is better than average, and there were some really nice staff members. They will hold your suitcases and luggage if you have them. There are two types of cabbage dressing: French and Perilla, as well as mustard, tonkatsu sauce, and chili pepper on the table. They accept credit cards and various electronic payment methods. They didn't have Origami. You can refill a lot of things, so you'll definitely be full!
The cutlet had a burnt taste (actually, it was burnt) and none of it was delicious. It wasn't the kind of taste I'd want people to think of when they think of Japanese tonkatsu. I thought it wasn't the quality of Wakou, then I realized it was a different company... The price was completely out of line.
