First time visiting. I ordered the curry set (beef red wine curry) and torta paradiso. The red wine's acidity was really good, it was incredibly delicious! It's a flavor that's addictive. The tea was also very delicious. The service was also polite! I'll definitely visit again (^-^)/
I had the soft pork spicy curry set for lunch. 🍛 The salad was generous and the simple dressing highlighted the natural flavors of the vegetables, showcasing the chef's thoughtful approach. 👩🍳 The curry sauce was rich and thick, with large chunks of pork submerged within. The meat was sweet and tender, delicious enough to enjoy on its own, making it a truly luxurious experience. ✨ The sixteen-grain rice paired perfectly with the sauce. It would be even better if the curry sauce was served hotter. 🙏 The restaurant, though small, has a unique three-dimensional structure and large windows that create a surprisingly spacious feel. It's a lovely space with a view of the backstreets of Ningyocho from the second floor. The bossa nova background music creates a calm and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for a leisurely meal. 🎵 It's great that it's also a welcoming place for solo diners. The restaurant gets crowded quickly during lunchtime, so it's best to come at a slightly off-peak time. It's wonderful to find such a charming place in Ningyocho. ✨
I arrived at noon on a weekday and was able to be seated without waiting. I ordered the beef stew. It came out around 12:20. As I was chewing the beef, I noticed some tough parts. I continued eating without paying much attention, but after a few bites, I saw that there were a lot of strings attached. I think they were from the cooking process. I ate them without realizing it. It was disappointing because there were strings throughout the dish, and I couldn't enjoy it peacefully.
The two appetizers were disappointing. They were served on tiny plates, about 3 centimeters in diameter, with one being a small portion of carrot salad and the other a few pieces of purple cabbage tossed in a minimal amount of dressing. It felt like they were trying to increase the number of dishes by simply separating the ingredients of a salad instead of mixing them together. The salad also had very little dressing. The red wine curry was delicious, but the portion of rice was extremely small, making it more like a curry soup. I had to order coffee and dessert to feel full. The coffee cream came in a small plastic container, which is common.
While strolling through Amazake Yokocho, I noticed a menu displayed outside, so I took the elevator to the second floor and entered. The weekly special, a sea bass sauté, caught my eye, so I ordered it. The sea bass was fresh and paired perfectly with the curry-flavored sauce, making it incredibly delicious. I savored the sauce by dipping bread into it. However, I felt the two small side dishes were unnecessary. I think a soup would have been a better option, so I deducted one star for that.
