One of the few stores open late at night. I give it 4 stars for its hours of operation. It's not a perfect 24-hour operation, so be aware that it's almost 24 hours. I don't remember exactly what time it was, but it was around 1 or 2 in the morning when they had a cleaning break. If you're going during that time, you might want to check to avoid being there during the cleaning time. It depends on the flight arrivals and departures, but there's usually a line at any time of day. I took this picture at 3 am, and it just happened to be a time when the crowd had thinned out. There was a wait when I went in, but the turnover was good, so I didn't have to wait too long. The foreign staff were also very friendly.
I'm a regular at the Setagaya main store, but this time I decided to try the branch at Haneda Airport's Terminal 3. While the staff here are foreign, the food tasted almost identical to the main store. However, I noticed a few menu differences... I highly recommend this place to foreign tourists visiting Japan. It's a great first stop!
I recently visited the Haneda International Airport branch of Setagaya Ramen. First impressions? The atmosphere is quite tough. The seating is practically shared, with very little space between customers, making it difficult to eat comfortably. It's almost impossible to avoid bumping into others. This definitely needs improvement. It would be especially difficult with children. I ordered the Setagaya Ramen (¥1400). It's described as a seafood-based soy sauce ramen, but the flavor is too strong, almost salty. While you can taste the seafood, it's faint, and the strong flavor overwhelms everything else. The noodles are curly and easy to eat. (If they were thicker and absorbed the soup, even the noodles would be a challenge.) The value for money is poor, and if this is what foreigners think Japanese ramen is like, it's a shame. There are many other delicious ramen shops out there, so I highly recommend checking them out. Improvements: - Increase the space between seats. It's unacceptable for customers to bump into each other. - Improve the flavor. This depends on the chef, I suppose. - Stop forcing customers to sit at specific tables. I understand the need to fill seats, but this is an international airport with many foreign visitors. People have different preferences, so... I don't usually write such harsh reviews, but this experience was so bad that I felt compelled to suggest improvements.
I visited around 7:00 am for a pick-up. I ordered the Setagaya ramen for 1,400 yen. The soup was strangely bitter. It lacked depth and was just salty. The noodles were to my liking. I wonder if it was because of the time of my visit or if 24-hour operation is too much for a ramen shop.
I recently discovered a delicious ramen shop. It's located on the 4th floor of Haneda Airport Terminal 3. I went there around 4 PM on a Friday. The system is to purchase tickets from a vending machine. Various code payments such as d payment are available. I bought the Setagaya ramen. The overall flavor is salty. The char siu is very tender, and the egg is runny and half-boiled. It's nice that it comes with one wonton! I drank the entire soup. Due to the location, more than half of the customers were foreigners. I was served after a customer who entered after me and ordered the same thing, so I gave the service a rating of -2 stars. I want to go back again!
