This time, I visited 'Sushi Sagawa,' a legendary sushi restaurant located in Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo. It's a members-only sushi establishment known as 'Sushi Saga-wa.' The interior exudes luxury, and you can savor the exquisite flavors of dishes made with carefully selected ingredients. The uni risotto and the clam broth are particularly delicious. Each piece of sushi melts in your mouth. The anago (conger eel), chutoro (medium fatty tuna), and otoro (fatty tuna) are all incredibly tasty.
Located on the first basement floor of a multi-purpose complex just a few minutes' walk from Roppongi Station, this sushi restaurant is surrounded by upscale dining establishments. The staff standing outside the restaurant made it easy to find, but it might be a bit tricky to locate if they weren't there. It's down the stairs and to the left. While the restaurant is members-only in the evenings, it's open to the public for lunch. I visited for lunch on a Saturday. The interior is dimly lit, with only the counter brightly illuminated, creating a bar-like atmosphere even during the day. Very Minato-ku (a district in Tokyo known for its upscale lifestyle). The high ceilings also contribute to this feeling, making it feel unlike a typical sushi restaurant. Again, very Minato-ku. There's a stone oven-like structure in the center where they grill some of the ingredients. The lunch course is ¥14,500 and includes 12 pieces of nigiri, maki, a small bowl of sea bream, and tamago (egg). The rice is slightly drier than usual, but it's not overly sticky and falls apart easily. It felt like the oil from the fish helped to break it down. The fish is all thick-cut, making for a satisfying bite. It's incredibly thick. This is a matter of personal preference, but I personally would have preferred a bit more rice to balance out the fish. What sets this restaurant apart from others is their use of ingredients cooked in the oven. The Hokkaido scallop was slightly cooked, which brought out its sweetness and was absolutely delicious. The anago (conger eel) was tender yet refreshing, and the sauce was a perfect match. The miso soup made from white fish bones was incredibly flavorful. It's definitely a Minato-ku experience, but the food is excellent, and considering the quality of the ingredients, the lunch course is a great value.
It's supposedly a members-only sushi restaurant, but I was able to make a reservation for lunch without any issues. The entrance is a bit hard to find, but you can press the intercom next to the keypad to get in. The interior is a U-shaped counter, which is surprisingly spacious. There's a charcoal grill in the center. Lunch is served without appetizers, and the sushi is presented quickly. The preparation isn't overly elaborate, and the sushi emphasizes the simple flavors of the ingredients. The tuna was thick and satisfying. The mackerel and toro-taku were delicious. The location is great, the prices are relatively reasonable, and you get plenty of sushi. I'd love to see what they offer for dinner.
This is a premium, members-only aburi sushi restaurant opened by the owner of Sushi-dori. I wasn't able to take pictures of the interior, but the member list was displayed, and I noticed the names of many prominent venture capitalists. The sushi was absolutely delicious.
A members-only sushi restaurant, "Sushi Sagawa"ヾ(≧▽≦)ノ I was invited by a gourmet friend to visit this place. Located in the basement of a stately building, it boasts a spacious and impressive interior. Apparently, it's a fully members-only establishment with a monthly fee. After the sushi, a members-only bar is available, making it perfect for dates or business entertainment. The membership fee is also quite reasonable, which is a plus(*´ω`*) King crab, water shield, and bonito vinegar jelly, edamame Black rockfish, seared Abalone, liver sauce Nigiri Young sardines Fresh squid, tentacles Tuna, brain Red sea bream Grilled Sandfish Purple sea urchin, middle part and cuttlefish, watermelon pickled in sake lees, rice added after Nigiri Horse mackerel Spot prawns Deep-sea perch bowl Marinated mackerel Red sea urchin Conger eel, with sauce Soup, clear soup Dried gourd roll Egg Roasted green tea warabi mochi
