I was able to get a seat without waiting at 12 pm on a weekday. Reservations might be necessary for larger groups. I had the pasta lunch course, and everything was delicious, especially the eel pasta. The combination of pepper, eel, and butter was perfect, making it a truly exquisite dish. The watermelon tea served at the end of the course was also very unique and I enjoyed it with the soy milk panna cotta.
The appetizers and wine were fantastic. However, while I understand the 2-hour time limit, it felt a bit rushed when we were asked to leave during a sudden downpour. We were practically ushered out the door as if they were eager to get us out. Even other customers were caught in the rain. It left a bit of a sour taste in our mouths.
The Italian cuisine served in this traditional Japanese house was excellent, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I was able to enjoy a leisurely meal, which was truly wonderful. ^ ^🍷 The appetizers, including pate, potato salad, and mackerel dishes, were perfect for pairing with drinks. I especially enjoyed the perfectly cooked, low-temperature meat and the flavorful shrimp-infused peperoncino pasta. Everything was delicious.
It was absolutely wonderful! This restaurant is highly recommended for anyone looking for delicious food and wine or sake in Ningyocho. It was a day before a holiday, so it was packed and very popular, but the staff were very kind and explained everything to us. Most importantly, the food was delicious!! The elaborate appetizer platter was a must-try, and the spacing between the tables and the background music were just right. It was a relaxing space for groups to have a lively time, as well as for individuals or couples to enjoy a quiet meal. I will definitely visit again when I'm in Ningyocho for drinks! Thank you so much! ♪
**Revisited after the pandemic** This is one of several locations, so the staff changes regularly. The current staff is generally young and a bit more stylish, which is both good and bad. The sommelier who was previously excellent (both in terms of food and wine selection) is no longer there, so I haven't been going as often. But I'm hoping for good things in the future. (The photo is from a previous visit.) ———— **A stylish old house cafe with solid food** The first floor has a counter, while the second and third floors have tables. The first floor has a happy hour with half-price glasses of wine until 7pm. The wine selection is diverse, including domestic and regional wines. There's also a great all-you-can-drink option for larger groups. The food is plentiful and the value is good.
