I tried to visit without a reservation before, but it was full, so I made a reservation for 5 PM this time. It seemed like I could have walked in at 5 PM without a reservation. The nama-ro (minced raw fish) and sashimi platter were delicious and fresh, with no fishy smell. The grilled fish and dried squid were good for enjoying the natural flavors of the ingredients, and the seasoning was relatively light. I would have preferred it if they had seasoned it with more salt when grilling, as it would have been even more delicious. If you order a whole dried fish, it's quite a lot, so I recommend the skewer platter, which allows you to try a variety of fish. The hojicha ice cream for dessert was absolutely delicious.

The building has a bit of an old-fashioned feel, but the food was really delicious. The rice was a little firm, but that's just a matter of preference. I think firmer rice might actually be better with fish, but I was seated at a shared table, which made me a little uneasy. It's probably fine since it seems like the place is used as an izakaya at night, but it felt a bit awkward being so close to a stranger. The food itself was great, though. Both the mackerel and the saury were very tasty. The miso soup could have been a bit better. It only had seaweed in it, so it would have been nice if it had tofu or something. The soup bowl was small, which I liked. A bigger bowl would have been a bit too much and I wouldn't have been able to finish it.

It was 1:30 PM on a Sunday ☀️. There was already a line and I waited for about 10 minutes. People of all ages were there, it's truly popular ✨. As soon as I entered, there was a section on the left where they were grilling various kinds of fish over charcoal 🔥♡. My excitement level went up 🤣. I was taken to a private room on the second floor. I ordered the grilled mackerel set, the salmon set (I think it was called 'toro nishin'?) and beer 🍻♡. Everything was delicious 😋🤤. The rice and miso soup were also great! I want to go back again 🥹. It's highly recommended if you're doing some 'Ginza browsing'!

Based on my friend's recommendation, I went for an early lunch at 11:30 am as the restaurant is very popular. I had the "Aかうお" (Akauo) half-body set meal for 990 yen, which came with miso soup and rice. The hallway is a bit narrow, so it's best to move to your seat quickly. The food was simple, healthy, and filling, making it great value for money. 🐟🙆 I also tried a bit of the salmon belly and mackerel dried with mirin. If you prefer stronger flavors, I recommend the mackerel mirin set meal!

A fantastic place to enjoy delicious charcoal-grilled dried fish! The taste and value for money are unbeatable. I ordered mackerel, Atka mackerel, cod in saikyo-zuke marinade, sashimi assortment, gingko nuts, and fig white simmered dish. Miso soup is 100 yen and rice is 150 yen. It's affordable and delightful. I called on a weekday evening and was able to get a table right away!
