I was craving some seafood rice bowl, so I went to "Den", a popular restaurant located just a short walk from Suitengu-mae Station. Their parent company, "Yamaki Co., Ltd.," is a long-established tuna wholesaler in Tsukiji with over 70 years of history, which explains why their tuna is so delicious. I arrived right when they opened, but it was already packed. It gets quite crowded, so it took me over 5 minutes to place my order after entering, and then another 20 minutes for the food to arrive. The seafood rice bowl I ordered (¥1,300) featured their signature tuna sashimi, negitoro (tuna with chopped green onions), along with octopus, amberjack, and other seafood. It came with a small side dish, pickles, miso soup, and a steamed egg custard, making it a complete meal. For the price, it was a decent meal, but the tuna was exceptional. It was incredibly smooth and melt-in-your-mouth delicious. This place isn't ideal for a quick bite. It's better suited for a leisurely lunch with friends or colleagues. ▽--------------------------▽ ○Restaurant Name: Den, Ningyocho Branch ○Tabelog Rating: 3.54 (as of August 20, 2024) ○1-minute walk from Suitengu-mae Station ○Lunch Budget: ¥2,000 per person ○Address: 2-1-7 Nihonbashi Ningyocho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, LIVIO Nihonbashi Ningyocho 2F ○Business Hours: [Mon-Fri] 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM / 5:30 PM - 11:00 PM [Sat] 5:00 PM - 10:30 PM ※Closed: Sundays and Public Holidays ※Cash or PayPay accepted △--------------------------△ 【Reservation Availability】 Reservations not accepted 【Recommended Usage Scenarios】 Family, friends, colleagues 【Crowdedness】 Visited on Tuesday at 11:30 AM, right when they opened. Amazing tuna at an affordable price. The sunken kotatsu seating area has a great atmosphere and is clean. The tuna was as good as everyone says. The selection of sake wasn't huge, but it was enough. I'll definitely be back. Thank you for the delicious meal.
Located in front of Suitengu Shrine, "Den, Ningyocho Branch" is an izakaya (Japanese pub) perfect for friends, colleagues, or solo diners. I ordered the Tuna Sashimi Donburi (¥1,250), which comes with a chawanmushi (savory egg custard), a small side dish, and miso soup. I visited on a weekday before noon and was able to walk right in. The Tuna Sashimi Donburi is a limited-quantity dish, but I was lucky enough to get it that day. The tuna slices were huge, at least 3-4 cm thick, and incredibly fatty, almost like medium toro. It was a luxurious experience. I finished with the smooth chawanmushi, making this another satisfying seafood lunch. If you're in the Ningyocho area near Suitengu Shrine, be sure to try it! Thank you for the meal!
I visited for lunch on a weekday. This popular restaurant is known for its grilled tuna bowl, which is delicious. Unfortunately, it was already sold out by 11:45 am, even though it's a limited-time offer. So, I ordered the chopped tuna bowl (large) for 1350 yen. The large rice portion was an additional 100 yen. The tuna was fresh and not frozen, which was delicious. It tasted like the tuna I remember from my childhood. I would have given it 4 stars, but the rice was too soft and mushy, so I deducted one star. It's a shame because the tuna was so good. Maybe it was just a one-time thing, and hopefully, the rice will be better next time.
Den, Ningyocho branch, located near Suitengu Station. This restaurant is popular for its tuna lunch, and I visited it on a whim after work that day. I was lucky to get a seat at the counter, but after that, walk-ins were being turned away, so it's best to make a reservation. Besides sashimi, I enjoyed the tempura as well. The restaurant has a Japanese atmosphere and feels high-quality, and the price-performance ratio was also good.
