The pufferfish sashimi, 'tetsasa,' was thick and incredibly delicious! The fin sake, fried pufferfish, and grilled pufferfish were also fantastic. The final congee with matsutake mushrooms was a luxurious treat!
This is a highly sought-after pufferfish restaurant in Tokyo, with reservations notoriously difficult to secure. To put it mildly, it will change your perception of pufferfish cuisine. The highlight was the 'fugu' sashimi, or 'tetsa.' The slices were cut slightly thicker than usual, resulting in a wonderfully springy texture with a satisfying bite. The accompanying 'ankimo' (monkfish liver) sauce was a perfect match, creating a truly harmonious flavor combination. Think of it like the classic pairing of shrimp tempura with tartar sauce, or the irresistible combination of 'gari-gari-kun' (a popular Japanese ice cream) with soda flavor. The 'fugu' sashimi and 'ankimo' sauce are just that good together! The deep-fried 'fugu' was also exceptional, with a crispy, light batter and tender, juicy flesh. It was so flavorful and succulent, it almost felt like eating chicken. Reservations are hard to come by, but this is a truly exceptional restaurant that I will definitely visit again as soon as I can secure a table.

The blowfish milt is so delicious it's mind-blowing! I know it's bad for my gout, but I can't stop myself. This is a famous restaurant I visit every winter. The liver sauce, fried chicken, and congee are all amazing. I'm looking forward to it this year too. I need to remember to bring cash!
