The gin infused with spicy sansho pepper was a truly shocking experience. Its unique flavor spread throughout my mouth, offering a refreshingly new sensation. The final touch of kombu tea added a seasonal touch, making for a delightful bar experience. I absolutely loved it. When I was paying, the staff member escorted me to the elevator on the 8th floor. I was surprised to see the same staff member on the 1st floor when I got off! It must have been quite a climb down from the 8th floor. Thank you for the delicious meal. I will definitely be back.
I had a drink at the main branch of Hoshi, an authentic bar in Ginza. The atmosphere is calm, but it's a popular spot, so it can get a bit lively at times. It might not be the best fit for those looking for a quiet and intimate drinking experience.
This is a review of the Jr. bar located on the 9th floor. The bar is located in a building just a few minutes' walk from Ginza Station, if you walk towards Shimbashi along the Sukiya-dori street, but before reaching the Kojunsha-dori street. It's the building facing that mysterious, slightly wide space. This bar is quite famous. I initially planned to visit the main branch on the 8th floor, but it was full, so I went to this sister branch on the floor above. Apparently, there are two more branches of this group in this building. They're taking over the place! The interior has an L-shaped counter, and you can enjoy a bit of a view from the window. It has a stylish atmosphere. However, it's not overly moody, so it's a place where you can enjoy yourself casually. I went there around 9:30 pm, which is a bit early for a bar, so it was empty. However, regulars started to gather and it became lively. I ordered a fresh fruit cocktail and asked for kumquat because they had it. I hadn't had a kumquat cocktail before, and it was in season. It was a luxurious cocktail made with a lot of kumquats, and I could eat a lot of the kumquats inside. It was delicious, but it was a bit sweet, so it would have been even better if it had been a bit more refreshing. Even so, the bartender had a gentle atmosphere and it was comfortable. They even served me some local dishes from Fukushima Prefecture, which were delicious. **Addendum: Main Branch** This is a famous bar located in a building a few minutes' walk from Ginza Station. The Yoshi group has 4 stores in the same building, and they're taking over the place. Of these, the main branch is legendary. I called around 9:30 pm on a weekend night and they said they could fit two people, so I went in. The interior has counter seats and small tables by the window. The fruits available that day were watermelon, melon, kiwi, peach, mango, passion fruit, tomato, and pineapple. I had a watermelon cocktail, a mango cocktail, and a pineapple cocktail. My companion had tomato and kiwi. It's irrelevant, but I knew that peaches are in the rose family, but I didn't know that kiwis are in the matatabi family. I didn't know that. The fine hairs are definitely a bit similar. All the cocktails had a strong fruit flavor and were delicious. They were all good, but the pineapple was especially good. It's a high-end cocktail, but it's great to be able to drop in and have a delicious cocktail.
We visited this bar as our second stop after dinner in the Ginza area. I've been to many authentic bars, but this one is by far the best. The bartender's technique, the prior consultation about our drink preferences, the high quality of the drinks they made, and the excellent service were all top-notch. Located in prime Ginza, this place has a strong brand and truly exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be back.
A legendary bar that is synonymous with Ginza. I had visited before, but it's a renowned establishment that I hadn't been able to visit for a while due to the pandemic. This was my first visit in over three years, and the service and taste still stand out from other bars. It truly lives up to its reputation as a leading bar in Ginza.
