Kikki Sushi, a long-established Edomae sushi restaurant with over 100 years of history. The sushi was delicious, with generous portions and affordable prices. Definitely coming back again! Thank you for the meal!

Taste and Heart Communication! The Delicate Elegance and Deep Umami of Edomae Sushi Nestled in the heart of Ningyocho, "Kisushi" is a renowned sushi establishment. The very presence of the restaurant exudes a sense of history and the pride of its skilled craftsmen, built over time. I felt compelled to pay my heartfelt respects to the artistry and tradition that breathe life into each and every dish. **Highlights** ● **The Freshness of Sashimi and the Art of Preparation** First, the sashimi assortment. Each piece, be it mackerel, sea bream, or scallop, was presented using the most suitable preparation method, showcasing its exceptional freshness. The fatty tuna, in particular, melted in my mouth, its deliciousness beyond words. The mackerel was thinly sliced, its translucent cut revealing its remarkable freshness. The subtle sweetness and the perfect level of firmness were exquisite, fully bringing out the natural flavor of the mackerel. The sea bream, on the other hand, was cut slightly thicker, releasing a burst of umami with each bite. The sea bream's tenderness and smooth texture offered a deep and satisfying flavor that unfolded with every chew, allowing me to savor the exquisite taste. The scallop sashimi was characterized by its bouncy texture. The scallop's inherent sweetness and the aroma of the sea filled my mouth, a testament to the quality of the ingredients. This scallop was delicately seared, creating a slightly firm exterior while preserving the scallop's natural flavor and texture. ● **Sushi Crafted with Masterful Skill** The nigiri sushi is a masterpiece that embodies the meticulous care and exceptional skill of the sushi chefs. The seared tuna nigiri, in particular, is a prime example of their artistry. This nigiri sushi is lightly seared on the surface, allowing the tuna's fat to melt and infuse it with a savory aroma, enhancing the tuna's natural flavor. The smoke that wafts up during the searing process stimulates the appetite, and the perfect level of sear brings out the tuna's umami to its fullest. This extra step creates a deep flavor and exquisite texture, elevating the nigiri sushi to a level of perfection. Each piece of sushi crafted by the chef demonstrates a perfect balance of the temperature of the rice and the acidity of the vinegar. The rice is fluffy yet firm, achieving the perfect consistency that melts in your mouth. This rice preparation speaks volumes about the chef's years of experience and deep understanding of sushi. Beyond the harmony of rice and topping, techniques like searing add another layer of depth to the flavor. The meticulous attention to detail and the skill of the chefs are what make "Kisushi" a truly captivating experience for its patrons. ● **Ambiance and Service** The warm wooden interior creates a sense of tranquility and comfort for guests. The service is also incredibly attentive, with the staff carefully observing each guest's preferences and pace, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. **Other Points** ▲ **Pricing** Given the exceptional quality of the sushi, the prices are slightly on the higher side, but I believe they are fully justified. This is a place suitable for special occasions or dining with loved ones. **Conclusion** A meal at "Kisushi" is not just about filling your stomach, but also about enriching your soul.

Whenever I'm in Ningyocho and craving sushi, I always end up here. Whether you go for the set menu or the omakase, you're sure to be satisfied. Of course, you can also order whatever you want, as much as you like. They serve everything from nigiri to sashimi, and even small dishes like isobe-yaki. They also have some off-menu items, so if you're unsure, ask for their recommendations. Dancyu magazine has a series called "Kizushi's 365 Days", which I highly recommend checking out!

Half of the customers are from overseas. This long-established sushi restaurant seems to be popular for its clear pricing. Indeed, from a foreign perspective, it's a steal to be able to enjoy Edomae sushi with such meticulous craftsmanship for around 5,000 yen, which is what Japanese people would typically pay. After a decade and a half, I was delighted to visit this restaurant again. The meal began with a seasonal appetizer of firefly squid, followed by spring bonito and Spanish mackerel. Of course, I enjoyed a warm sake, Kikumasamune, a staple of this long-established restaurant. Old sushi restaurants always serve Kikumasamune, and it truly complements the dishes. Each dish, though orthodox, was prepared with such meticulous care that I was truly impressed. Today, the sand smelt, horse mackerel, sea bream, and bonito were particularly delicious. This is a truly remarkable restaurant that deserves to be passed down to future generations! April 2024

I made a phone reservation before opening hours and only table seats were available. It seems like making a reservation is a good idea even for lunch. It was my first time, so I ordered the lunch nigiri for 5,500 yen (tax included) as a trial. As expected from the store's appearance, I was able to enjoy traditional Edomae sushi. The taste was definitely good, and the vinegared rice was a bit firm, which was to my liking. I want to go back again, but if you add items to your order, you should expect to spend around 10,000 yen even for lunch.
