This boulangerie is located near the Sumida River, right in between Morishita and Kiyosumi-shirakawa stations. The exterior is stylish, with a bakery on the first floor and a restaurant on the second. My favorite bread here is the high-hydration bread. It's soft and full of wheat flavor, absolutely delicious. Drizzling it with olive oil takes the taste to another level. I also recommend the olive fromage Danish and croissant. They're made with rich buttery dough that's simply addictive.
I arrived at Tamura Pan at 7:30 AM, but they were closed until 8:30 AM today. Truffle Bakery is closed on Mondays, and I wanted to try something new, so I used Google to find this place. Turns out, it's the successor to Carla Aurelia, which used to be in the Tokyo Daimaru department store and closed last year! What a happy coincidence! It also happened to be their monthly bread day, so their high-hydration bread was on sale for 180 yen instead of 300 yen. I couldn't resist buying two, and they even let me buy some of their other breads and a baguette that was supposed to be ready at 9:00 AM, but they baked it early. The baguette was the best! Everything else was great too, like the kouign amann and donuts. They're all top-notch, like a Hibiya High School class! (The photo is already cut up because I was going to eat it at home.) However, I didn't get the drink coupon that you're supposed to get with purchases over 1,500 yen, so I took off one star. Otherwise, it would have been a 5-star experience. I had a very satisfying breakfast. I'll definitely be back.
I had heard that Kiyosumi Shirakawa has a lot of bakeries, but I thought, "Bread is all the same, right?" I was wrong! I was surprised! I bought two kinds of hard bread here: * Raisin Bread: 200 yen (excluding tax) * Barley High Hydration (Pine): 380 yen (excluding tax) The dough of the Barley High Hydration bread is incredibly chewy and moist. What is this?! It's hard bread, but it's not super hard, it's more like a crispy texture. I think I'm going to be addicted to this. I understand why everyone lines up to buy it.
This bakery opens at 8:30 AM. The building has a stylish exterior with green accents. There are so many types of bread that it's hard to choose. Even when I visited around 10 AM on a holiday, there was a wide variety of bread available. They also sell jams and dressings. This is a bakery I want to visit regularly.
A stylish bakery with prices mainly in the 300 yen range, but the taste was average. There is a bicycle parking lot next to the store, which is convenient. * Electronic money, credit cards, QR code payments, etc. can be used for payment.
