★Foodie Lawyer's Food Diary★ 【Instagram】joy_sound 【Tabelog】_Chrome_ ------------------------------------- Thinly breaded and tender meat! Visited Imakatsu in Higashi-Ginza. It's listed in Tabelog's 100 Best Tonkatsu Restaurants. They were closed for a while, but they seem to have reopened, so I went to check it out. The restaurant is spacious, but the service was a bit chaotic. The menu is extensive. I ordered: * Special Loin Cutlet * Piyo Piyo Menchi (Minced Meat Cutlet) * Lemon Sour The cutlet had a thin breading. The meat was surprisingly tender, which was a pleasant surprise. It was delicious with both sauce and salt. The Piyo Piyo Menchi was surprisingly large, much bigger than I expected. It was a delicious meal! ------------------------------------- Likes, saves, and comments are greatly appreciated!
I visited around 11:45 am on a Saturday. It was a typhoon day, but there was a long line of about 20 people, probably due to foreign tourists. I waited for 40 minutes to get in. I ordered the popular chicken breast cutlet set for ¥1200. It was incredibly delicious! I never knew chicken breast could be so springy and juicy! It was truly impressive. The breading was thin and crispy, like kushikatsu (Japanese skewers). You can choose between salt and sauce. The salt was pretty standard, but the sauce was delicious with a distinct flavor. The cabbage was refillable and came with a sesame dressing, which was tasty. And the rice was amazing! It was so shiny. Tonkatsu restaurants known for their quality often serve large portions, which can be overwhelming even if the food is delicious. But the chicken breast cutlet was just the right size, leaving me wanting more. I finished it all with a satisfied feeling. The seating is designed for shared tables, but they leave a space between seats, making it comfortable to eat. Most of the customers are foreigners, so the manners might vary depending on the day.
We arrived at a little past noon and had to wait 25 minutes for a table, as there were 7 groups ahead of us. We ordered the Yamato Pork Tasting Set (one bite of fillet and loin cutlet, plus a small eggplant tempura) for ¥1450 (tax included) and a single sasami cutlet for ¥500 (tax included). They brought out the cabbage right away, and the rest of the food arrived 13 minutes later. You can choose between white rice and mixed grain rice. They no longer offer free refills on the cabbage, but rice refills are still free. You can add sesame dressing to the cabbage yourself. The famous sasami cutlet was incredibly soft, moist, and fluffy! Delicious! You eat the sasami cutlet with salt. The Yamato pork fillet was thick but tender! The flavor of the meat slowly filled your mouth as you chewed. The Yamato pork loin was notable for its sweet fat, but the meat flavor was a bit light. Overall, the meat was incredibly tender! I tried both the pork and the sasami, but if I come back, I think I'll just get the sasami cutlet. Separate checks are available. Even around 1:30 pm on a weekday, there was a line about the same length as when we arrived.
I visited around 1:00 PM on a weekday. It's usually crowded during lunchtime, but there was a short line this time, so I decided to go in. There were two people ahead of me, and I was able to get a table after about 10 minutes. Even though I was dining alone, I was seated at a small raised table in the back that could accommodate four people. I ordered the "Imakatsu Zen" set. It's a signature dish featuring a variety of cuts, including chicken breast, fillet, crab cream croquette, minced meat cutlet, and eggplant. It arrived in about 10 minutes. The famous chicken breast cutlet was incredibly juicy and delicious, whether you ate it with salt or sauce. The minced meat cutlet and fillet were also so good that I couldn't resist ordering another serving of rice. One of the best things about Imakatsu is that they offer free refills of cabbage and rice. The cabbage is sweet and tastes great with the sesame dressing on the table. Imakatsu is a popular spot in a competitive tonkatsu district. If you're in the area, be sure to check it out. ☺︎︎ Order List • Imakatsu Zen 1700 yen Chicken breast, fillet, crab cream croquette, minced meat cutlet, eggplant • • ♪ About Me I love trying out different restaurants, whether it's a place I found on Google Maps or one recommended by a friend. I'd like to share my experiences on Instagram, but I'm a bit lazy about it. Feel free to follow me, and I'll follow you back! @k.gourmeet
I visited this restaurant after hearing they serve Yamat豚 (a breed of Japanese pig). When I arrived at opening time, there was already a line of about 10 groups. I waited for an hour. You can get refills of cabbage and rice. The oil used for frying lingered in my mouth, and I didn't taste the richness and sweetness of the pork fat as much as I expected. The signature chicken breast cutlet set seems to be popular.
