A wonderful restaurant serving tempura and soba noodles. The stylish interior evokes the Edo period charm of Ningyocho. The service from the owner and his wife is warm and welcoming. The seasonal tempura served in the course is exquisite. You can choose to have your soba noodles hot, cold, or both. The delicate, thin noodles are delicious. It was a great restaurant.
The food was absolutely delicious, but the conversation with the head chef, the proprietress, the apprentices, and the other customers was also a very enjoyable experience. They use mainly Shizuoka and Edo ingredients, and the uni tempura was a first for me and incredibly delicious. The soba noodles were also fantastic!
This time, I visited 'Nihonbashi Kyonoji,' a tempura restaurant located in Ningyocho, Nihonbashi, Chuo-ku, Tokyo. A friend invited me to this place, saying it's a tempura restaurant that's hard to get a reservation at, so this was my first time trying it. The restaurant has seven counter seats, and the chef personally fries the tempura and serves it to each customer. The menu for the day is displayed on the wall, and each dish is freshly fried, crispy, and delicious, without being too oily.
★Foodie Lawyer's Food Diary★ 【Instagram】joy_sound 【Tabelog】_Chrome_ ------------------------------------- I don't even want to reach the final soba noodles anymore! Tempura followed by soba for the finale. I visited "Kyo no Ji" in Nihonbashi. Finally got to visit this place I'd been wanting to try. Starting with shrimp, the delicious tempura continued, and I was like, "When did shiitake mushrooms become this good?" Then the soba came out and I felt a little sad. That kind of place. The chef was also friendly and the atmosphere was great. It was so good!! Thank you for the meal! ------------------------------------- Likes, saves, and comments are encouraging!!
Located in Ningyocho, "Nihonbashi Kyonoji" is a tempura restaurant. It has earned a Michelin star in 2024, a 15.5 rating in the Gault&Millau 2023 guide, a 2024 Tabelog SILVER award, and a spot on the 2023 Tabelog Hundred Famous Restaurants list. The restaurant features tempura made with ingredients primarily from Shizuoka, the chef's hometown, and incorporates the traditions of their family's soba noodle shop. They offer a unique tempura course that includes soba noodles, soba dumplings, and other innovative elements. Notably, their technique of applying "kaeshi" (a type of dipping sauce) to the tempura is a distinctive skill that sets them apart from other restaurants, thanks to their soba noodle shop background. The restaurant receives a 4.0-star rating.
