My Lunch Menu Ranking **Oyakodon (Chicken and Egg Rice Bowl)** > **Chicken Katsu (Cutlet)** > **Yakitori Don (Grilled Chicken Rice Bowl)** >= **Chicken Meatballs** **[Oyakodon]** King!! The egg is so soft and tender, and the seasoning is perfect. I love everything about it. **[Chicken Katsu Don]** The chicken cutlet is thick, juicy, and hot. I love that the cabbage is also in the bowl. **[Yakitori Don]** Compared to the oyakodon, the chicken feels a bit dry. I like the sauce. **[Chicken Meatballs]** It's basically deep-fried chicken mince. I like that it comes with fried chicken. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Visited for lunch on a weekday in April 2024. Arrived at 11:38 and there was no wait. I managed to squeeze into the last seat at the counter and ordered the oyakodon verbally. The exterior and interior are very Showa-era. The background music is orchestral, the chef is a traditional craftsman working solo, and the staff are from other countries. They accept PayPay. It's a fun mix of modern and Showa-era elements! There seems to be seating on the second floor as well 🌸. First, I was served pickles and tea. The oyakodon arrived at 11:43. The yolk is shining brightly, it's so beautiful!! First, I tried the egg. It's fluffy and soft, not too thin and not too thick, with a perfect balance of saltiness. There was a bottle on the table labeled "sauce", so I guess it's for people who prefer a lighter flavor 🤔. As expected from a yakitori shop, the chicken is incredibly delicious!! It's tender, juicy, and the skin isn't unpleasant at all. It actually enhances the flavor 😍. The chicken they use is either Oyama chicken or Shingen chicken, so it's no wonder it's so good 👍. Other menu items include chicken meatball skewers, chicken cutlet, and yakitori don. I noticed that many regulars ordered these dishes. With this location and this price, I'm going to be a regular here!! The yakitori at night must be amazing too 🥰.

I had lunch at "Toriya-ki Tatenokoji" in Tsukiji. It's a 2-minute walk from Tsukiji Station, near Tsukiji Honganji Temple. I had never noticed this place before, but I found it while searching for lunch spots on Tabelog. It's a two-story building with a counter on the first floor and table seating on the second floor. I was seated on the second floor. The lunch menu has four items, all priced at ¥900, with a ¥100 surcharge for a large portion. * Oyakodon (Chicken and Egg Donburi) * Yakitori Bento (Grilled Chicken Bento) * Chicken Shinjo Age (Chicken Paste Fritters) * Chicken Katsu Don (Chicken Cutlet Donburi) They use Oyama chicken and Shingen chicken. I ordered the Chicken Katsu Don (large) for ¥1000, and my companion ordered the Oyakodon (large) for ¥1000. After a while, the food arrived. The amount of rice was unbelievable. It must have been 1.5 to 2 go (cups) of rice. The staff had warned me that the large portion was quite a lot, but I still went for it. The Chicken Katsu Don had a crispy batter, topped with a generous amount of onions and egg, and a few green beans for color. I devoured it with a spoon! It was a delicious Chicken Katsu Don, unlike anything I'd had before. My companion let me try a bit of their Oyakodon, and it was also excellent. The broth was flavorful, and the chicken was tender and juicy. The balance of chicken and egg was perfect. It came with pickles and miso soup. For this volume and quality, ¥1000 is a steal. I've found a great new lunch spot. #Toriya-kiTatenokoji #Tatenokoji #TsukijiGourmet #TsukijiLunch #TsukijiDinner #TsukijiIzakaya #TsukijiOyakodon #ChickenKatsuDon #Oyakodon #Tsukiji #KuboyuEats

Due to the owner's illness, only yakitori donburi and oyakodon were available for lunch. I ordered the oyakodon (¥900). After ordering, I was immediately served pickles and a steaming bowl of miso soup. The oyakodon arrived 3-4 minutes later. The meat was tender and flavorful, and the egg was perfectly cooked, half-cooked and not overdone. The rice was neither too hard nor too soft, and it absorbed the broth well, making it easy to eat. The portion size was a bit large, and I think women might find it too much. It was a very satisfying lunch. A large portion is ¥100 extra. PayPay is accepted.

Although it's only open for a short hour during weekdays, I visited because I heard they have delicious Oyakodon (chicken and egg rice bowl). Most of the customers were salarymen. The chef's loud, energetic voice, full of artisan spirit, gives off a sense of tradition. The Oyakodon was 850 yen. As I had researched beforehand, it was packed with tender chicken. It's truly a yakitori (grilled chicken) shop. The egg was perfectly soft-boiled and delicious. The rice portion was generous, and the flavor of the gentle broth soaked into it. It was a comforting taste. I'm glad I came.
