I used this restaurant for my birthday celebration. As a Michelin Guide recommended restaurant, it was not only delicious but also had excellent hospitality! They brought out the grilled eel with a candle and a handwritten birthday card, which made me truly happy. The grilled eel had crispy, fragrant skin and juicy sweetness, with perfect grilling. It was the best grilled eel I've ever had! You can enjoy it with salt, wasabi, and kabosu, so it never gets boring. Also, the egg yolk marinated in soy sauce comes with the eel rice bowl, and it's delicious! I will definitely go back again!

The freshly-prepared grilled eel set meal with white-grilled eel is highly recommended! Located a 2-minute walk from Higashi-Ginza Station, I visited "Ginza Yondaime Takahashiya Ginza", which was newly selected as one of the top 100 eel restaurants. I made a reservation for the freshly-prepared grilled eel set meal for 8,000 yen (reservations only) at 1:30 PM on Sunday. The eel set meal includes appetizers, white-grilled eel, and eel on rice. Today's eel was from Isshiki, Aichi Prefecture. I was shown the eel in a bucket first. The appetizers, mozuku seaweed, were served after about 15 minutes, and the white-grilled eel was served after about 35 minutes. You can enjoy it with fresh wasabi, Tosa soy sauce, salt, and sudachi citrus. The white-grilled eel was cooked over an open fire, with crispy skin and very juicy flesh. The grilling was perfect, and it was delicious. I enjoyed the changing flavors by adding Tosa salt, wasabi, sudachi citrus, and Tosa soy sauce in order. The eel on rice (with extra rice for 300 yen) was served after about 45 minutes, along with liver soup, pickles, and egg yolk sauce. The eel skin was crispy with just the right amount of fat, and the flesh was incredibly fluffy and tender, making it very delicious. The sauce had a refined flavor, which was great! The rice was cooked firm, and it went perfectly with the eel and sauce. The liver soup was also quite delicious, with a large piece of liver. I enjoyed everything until the very last bite.

I finally got to visit Takahashiya, a place I've been wanting to try for a while. When I went inside, I was surprised to find that there were fewer seats than I expected. The eel is Aichi Prefecture's Isshiki blue eel. They grilled one-fourth of it as white-grilled eel and the rest as eel on rice. The white-grilled eel was crispy and delicious with wasabi, the flavors of the wasabi and the eel complementing each other perfectly. The eel on rice was thick and satisfying, and the sauce was just right, not too sweet and not too spicy. However, the sansho pepper wasn't quite my type, and the aroma was a bit weak.

Yoko Kawamura's 'Shichaka Cha Bus Guide' Instagram: @yoko_kawamura_ Ameba blog: https://ameblo.jp/yokonyaaan22/ "Ginza Yonedaime Takahashiya", an eel restaurant located on the 8th floor of a building near the Kabuki-za Theatre. This is a long-established restaurant with a history of about 150 years, and it's a famous spot frequented by Kabuki actors and celebrities incognito. I don't usually order white-broiled eel, but Takahashiya's white-broiled eel is famous, so I decided to try it. ❤︎ The white-broiled eel, grilled over charcoal, was perfectly fatty and had a delicate, almost whitefish-like flavor. It was definitely different from any white-broiled eel I'd had before. The eel bowl arrived about 30 minutes later. The sauce was quite restrained and light, (extra sauce is provided on the table), but there were toppings like fresh wasabi, sansho pepper, and raw egg, so I could enjoy different flavors! The eel was so tender it practically melted in my mouth. It was like a baby! lol (My vocabulary is lacking, lol) It was absolutely delicious! I'll definitely be back! ◼︎What I ordered Unadon Gozen (eel bowl set) ¥5,000 Small bottle of beer x 3

I visited for lunch at 11:30 on a weekday. I made a reservation as part of our eel club's activities. This time, I ordered the freshly-prepared eel set meal (with white-grilled eel). To quench my thirst, I ordered a small bottle of Ebisu beer. Before the meal began, I had the special experience of seeing the live eel I was about to eat. It truly felt like I was on a high, and my anticipation grew even more. First, a vinegar dish was served, and the small bottle of beer was quickly finished, so I ordered sake. The sake menu was extensive, and they even had rare sake from the Noguchi Naoyuki Institute. I started with a bottle of Hidaka-mi. Next, I enjoyed the combination of white-grilled eel and sake. The white-grilled eel was fragrant, with a crispy skin and the refined aroma of sansho pepper. Finally, the main dish, the eel rice bowl, arrived. I savored the fluffy, plump, and tender eel. It was a very satisfying club activity. Thank you for the delicious meal.
