A Taste of Authentic Danshui Castella! I visit Taiwan at least once a year, and I even take solo trips there on a whim. I truly love Taiwan! But the castella from Danshui, Taipei, is just unbelievably delicious. The freshly baked castella melts in your mouth the moment you take a bite, and its light texture makes it easy to carry a whole cake! I'd been wanting to try this castella in Tokyo for a long time, and I finally got to buy some! ✨ 【Order】 ■ Premium Plain / Half (¥950) It looks exactly like the Danshui castella! The first bite is even lighter and fluffier than 'fluffy and airy'. The egg flavor is strong, and it stays fluffy and airy even when it cools down. There are many places that sell Taiwanese castella, but this one is definitely impressive! Heating it up in the microwave brings back the airy texture even more! You can enjoy a more melt-in-your-mouth flavor. It was a delicious treat! ✨

I had a Taiwanese castella in Kichijoji a while back and it was absolutely delicious, so I decided to try some again. I got a premium plain half for 950 yen, a premium Uji matcha half for 1050 yen, and a small chocolate as a LINE friend gift. It was fluffy and delicious, but I felt it was a bit less impressive than the Taiwanese castella I had in Kichijoji.

I've been a fan and have been buying this for a long time. Recently, the size has become smaller, and compared to when I first started buying it, the fluffy volume and softness have been decreasing, and the overall volume has become less. The fluffy, airy texture I used to feel is gone, and I'm very disappointed. I once bought it from another store, but it had a flat, dense texture and was heavy. It lacked the airy, fluffy texture and wasn't delicious, so I've been buying it from the Ginza Tokyu main store. However, lately, the quality has been declining, and I'm very disappointed. I hope it will return to the fluffy, voluminous Taiwanese castella it used to be.

I bought plain, Earl Grey, and the limited-edition pumpkin cake. As the name "蛋糕" suggests, you can taste the sweetness and aroma of eggs. It's fluffy, not too sweet, and has a gentle flavor. I'll try other flavors next time! The staff was also very kind!

Thank you for your reply. It wasn't that there was a problem, but I personally found the oily taste lingering in my mouth after eating it. I apologize for the unclear expression. I don't have any specific requests, so I will refrain from mentioning the purchase location. -- I bought it at a promotional event. I think it was around 1500 yen. They were also selling pre-cut pieces. **What I liked:** * It was quite dense and had more substance than it looked. **What I was concerned about:** * It was oily. Probably salad oil? The aftertaste was unpleasant. I probably won't buy it again. The taste didn't match the price.
