I visited this place based on a friend's recommendation. They offer a wide selection of wines and dishes made with seasonal ingredients. The wine cellar is so fascinating that you might find yourself lost in it for a while! π The casual and relaxed atmosphere is also wonderful. I highly recommend the counter seats where you can watch the chefs work in the open kitchen. β¨
W, which relocated from Kita-Aoyama to Minami-Aoyama in May, has retained its lively counter seating where you can enjoy watching your food being grilled. They have also added a pet-friendly terrace next to the entrance, offering views of the wine-filled interior. After the renovation, the walk-in wine cellar is now located right by the entrance. It's easily accessible for both those dining in and those purchasing wine. One of the highlights is the ability to bring your own bottle (BYO) from their extensive cellar of wines from around the world. The corkage fee is a reasonable Β₯1,300. We ordered the course menu and opted to change the carpaccio to a grilled bonito, a great choice! They were very flexible. <Course Menu> β’ Bonito Straw-Roasted β’ Meat Appetizer Platter β’ Chinese Chicken Salad β’ Black Pork Tsukune Wrapped in Lemongrass β’ US Beef Hanging Tender Grill β’ Today's Pasta - Amatriciana The straw-roasted bonito was perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful. The original twists on dishes like the banbanjee x bistro-style salad and the Thai-inspired tsukune were delightful. We paired our meal with a glass of Chardonnay/Migration, a wine from Duckhorn, a renowned Napa producer, who has a dedicated Sonoma Pinot and Chardonnay series. Made with grapes from cool-climate vineyards, it offers fresh fruit flavors and a hint of oak from secondary fermentation, making it a beautiful wine. After enjoying two whites and two reds, we decided to select a Tuscan wine, LUCENTE, from the cellar to pair with the ripe tomato Amatriciana. This wine is produced by a collaboration between the legendary Robert Mondavi and the prestigious Frescobaldi family. It's a second label that allows you to experience the Luce style early on. The ripe fruitiness of the Amatriciana and the bacon broth paired beautifully with the wine. With a selection of wines ranging from affordable options to prestigious names like Opus, there's something for everyone. Whether you're looking for a casual drink, a bistro-style meal, or a leisurely evening with a favorite bottle, this place caters to a variety of occasions. The food was still delicious after the renovation. Thank you for the wonderful meal.
I had lunch there on Saturday. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice, and the staff were kind, so I had a very pleasant meal. The food was delicious, had a good amount, and came with a drink bar, so I think it's a great value for the price. I will definitely go back again.
We visited W AOYAMA on the eve of our anniversary. They specialize in using domestic ingredients. The dishes were all delicious, featuring fresh vegetables, seafood, meat, and pasta. The atmosphere of the restaurant and the service of the staff were both elegant, making for a wonderful anniversary celebration. We will definitely visit again. The course we ordered was as follows: * Fresh Fish Carpaccio * Charcuterie Platter * Homemade Bacon Caesar Salad * Steamed Domestic Mussels in White Wine * Grilled Bone-in Matsusaka Pork * Pasta of the Day
