Everything was delicious, and the unique twist on each menu item was very refreshing. I was surprised by the soft burdock root fries, which I ordered without thinking! I highly recommend trying them. There was a wide variety of sake to choose from, and it was fun to pair them with the food. The staff was very busy, so it was a little difficult to get their attention to order, but they were very patient in explaining the dishes, and the atmosphere was comfortable. The fermented herring was rich and creamy, almost like cheese. My husband and I enjoyed a variety of dishes and drinks, and I couldn't believe how affordable it was. This is definitely a place we'll be returning to. There's also a counter, so it's perfect for solo diners. I'm planning on going back by myself next time.

Friday lunch is curry day. I've been there twice before and the curry was sold out, but I finally got to try it on a Friday. It's a Friday-only lunch special. It was 12:30 pm, so it was packed. I had to share a table. A few customers were turned away because the curry was sold out. The lunch menu only had one option: chicken and cheese saag curry. The curry arrived, beautifully plated. It came with thinly sliced carrots, daikon radish, red cabbage, and lettuce. There was also dried kasoori methi sprinkled on top. It looked like a spice curry. The hot saag curry was poured over the cheese, so when you scooped it up with a spoon, the cheese stretched. The spices were mild and the heat was also mild. It's not for spice fanatics who are looking for a kick, but it's something everyone would enjoy. I can see why it's popular with women. It's more like an original European-style saag curry than a spice curry. The dinner menu is definitely pub-style. The name "Kunsgin" made me think they had smoked dishes, but when I asked, they said it wasn't related to smoking.
It's located right next to Kyobashi Tsukiji Elementary School. The restaurant is on the first basement floor. For lunch, I had the pork ginger donburi and the negitoro seafood donburi. The pork ginger donburi had a sweet flavor. I was surprised by the negitoro seafood donburi. It was packed with sashimi, not just negitoro, and looked incredibly delicious. For 1100 yen, it's great value! I had the pork ginger donburi, but that was also reasonably priced at 800 yen. The fish looked so good, so I decided to order the saba miso-ni (mackerel simmered in miso) set next time. It was delicious. Thanks!
I often visit this place for lunch. Every Friday is curry day! I never know what kind of curry they'll have. The set meals are also delicious, and it's such a great restaurant that I go there even though it's a bit far from my workplace. I have high hopes for their dinner menu too!
