🌸 **Anseigne Dangour Harajuku** 🌸 **Location:** 5 minutes walk from Harajuku Station **Budget:** ¥1200 per person **Hours:** 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM **Reservations:** Available *Cash only* 🌸 **What I ordered:** * Amber Queen ¥950 * Cocoa ¥800 * Homemade Cheesecake ¥570 🌸 **Review:** I visited around 6:00 PM on a Saturday and there were only a few other customers, so I was able to get a table right away! I had the impression that cafes are often smoky, but this one was not at all, which was great. The homemade cheesecake was light and crumbly, but still had a rich, cheesy flavor. It wasn't too sweet and was delicious. It paired well with the coffee. They have a wide variety of coffees, including some unique ones, so it's perfect for coffee lovers ✨ The cocoa also allows you to adjust the sweetness, so you can customize it to your liking! ❣️ The owner was also very gentlemanly and the atmosphere was very comfortable. It has a hidden gem feel, so I definitely want to go back ✨
After visiting the Yoyogi National Gymnasium, I felt like having some coffee and decided to check out this place I had been eyeing for a while. I've been to their Jiyugaoka location before, but this was my first time at this one. The interior is designed by Shinpei Matsuki, with a calm atmosphere based on white plaster and brown wood. There used to be quite a few places with this style, but I feel like they're slowly disappearing. They use old beans, maybe from Kokuteido? I apologize if I'm wrong. I know this because I worked part-time at a similar place during my student days. I ordered a blend coffee and cheesecake. The blend coffee was very rich. The cup was Royal Copenhagen, which is one of my favorite brands. The cheesecake was a very classic type, and it was excellent. It was nostalgic to visit a place with this style after a long time. I'll definitely come back again.
Enseigne Dangouru Harajuku Branch [Thursday (Weekday) 2:18 PM, No Wait] Another day, another solo cafe adventure, it's TF. Feeling the need for a good walk, I set off from Gaienmae, passing through Sendagaya and heading towards Harajuku. Right on my route, I noticed Enseigne Dangouru Harajuku Branch, which had been on my radar, and decided to give it a try before visiting Meiji Jingu Shrine. Located in a semi-basement, I descended the stairs and entered. There was only one other customer, a gentleman. It was a stark contrast to the bustling crowds of young people near Harajuku Station, offering a classic, calm, and sophisticated atmosphere. I was guided to a single-seater table and ordered a cheesecake and a blended coffee. The cheesecake was rich and delicious, while the coffee, a deep roast, was the opposite of my usual preference for light roasts. I enjoyed it black first, then added milk and sugar to adjust it to my liking. Both the cake and coffee were truly delightful. I was pressed for time, so I couldn't linger, but I definitely plan to visit again. Thank you for the delicious meal!
I visited Cafe Anseigne Dangl, Harajuku branch. It's located about 230 meters straight ahead, to the left (north) from the Takeshita Exit of JR Harajuku Station. After passing Tokyo Design College, turn right immediately, and it's 10 meters ahead. Follow the sign and go down the stairs to the basement level. The interior has 10 counter seats, one table for seven, two tables for four, three tables for three, and one table for one. The lighting is a combination of hanging lights, wall lights, and table lamps, creating a pleasant, not too bright atmosphere. The white walls, pillars, and ceiling contrast with the dark brown floor, tables, chairs, window frames, and the old wooden beams overhead, creating a calming effect. This time, I ordered a Croque Monsieur (French-style oven sandwich), Gateau Fromage (homemade cheesecake), and Cafe au Lait Glace (cold au lait), and enjoyed them all. The store plays Western music as background music at a quiet volume that doesn't interfere with conversation. There is one unisex restroom at the back of the store. Payment is cash only. This shop is a retro, hidden gem, stylish antique cafe located in a residential area about a 3-minute walk from JR Harajuku Station. It's a place where you can relax and enjoy the slow passage of time, known for its homemade cheesecake.
It's about a 5-minute walk from Harajuku Station. I arrived around 2:00 PM and there was no wait. The clientele was relatively young, mostly in their late 20s. It's definitely Harajuku! The cheesecake had the perfect sweetness, it was absolutely delicious. As expected of a restaurant selected for the 100 Best Restaurants, the atmosphere and the quality of the food were high. I definitely want to visit again! The staff weren't very friendly, but it's a retro cafe kind of place, so it's part of the charm.
