Even though I'm in Tokyo, I suddenly craved the taste of Kyoto, so I went to "Tsujiri" at the Daimaru Tokyo store. I arrived at the 10th floor around 3 pm on a weekday. There were so many Tokyoites who love Kyoto, even on a weekday, there was a line and the store was packed! But it might be less crowded than the Kyoto store. There were about 5 groups ahead of me, and the wait was about 15 minutes. The turnover rate was faster than I expected. Inside, everyone was having either "Matcha Ice" or "Matcha Parfait." There are so many matcha lovers! It's also nice that they serve hojicha tea instead of water. I was torn between the "Special Tsujiri Parfait" and the "Shiratama Parfait" but ended up ordering the "Shiratama Parfait." The matcha whipped cream was surrounded by shiratama (mochi balls), and underneath was matcha ice cream, vanilla ice cream, matcha jelly, and matcha syrup. Eating matcha sweets makes me feel so grateful to be Japanese. The tea is delicious, so the parfait is delicious too. Due to the influx of tourists, there were many foreigners visiting. Matcha culture is no longer limited to Japan. *Tsujiri Tea Room* * 1-9-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo Daimaru Tokyo Store, 10th Floor * 03-3214-3322 * 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM * Reservations not accepted * Right next to the Yaesu North Exit of JR Tokyo Station * Credit cards, electronic money, and QR codes accepted * Counter seating for 30, table seating for 50 * Closed on New Year's Day * All seats are non-smoking * The staff will refill your tea as soon as it runs out. ☆*:.。. .。.:*☆☆*:.。. .。.:*☆☆*:.。. .。.:☆*:.。. .。.:*
It's a blessing to be able to enjoy a matcha parfait from Tsujiri without having to go all the way to Kyoto. I don't usually eat parfaits, but Tsujiri's are in a league of their own. I savored a large parfait at the counter, gazing out at the afternoon cityscape. The matcha flavor was truly exquisite. The mochi balls and chestnuts were delicious as well. However, just a personal opinion, I felt the sponge cake didn't quite fit. Of course, overall, it was absolutely superb. Thank you for the meal.
Due to a typhoon, or perhaps because the Shinkansen was suspended the day before, the restaurant was closing at 8 pm, so I had to eat quickly. The green tea soba was delicious. If it were a bit cheaper, I would be a regular, but Tsujiri has a special feeling to it... The restaurant was almost empty, so it was relaxing, but it was a shame that I had to rush out. The limited-time shaved ice I had in Kyoto was so good, so next time I want to try their parfait!
Directly connected to Tokyo Station, this is a traditional Japanese sweets shop and one of the "100 Famous Sweets Shops" located on the 10th floor of Daimaru Tokyo. I stopped by because I had a dinner reservation nearby and wanted to have a little tea. But I ended up eating! The photos of the menu looked so delicious. I've been eating a lot of Japanese sweets lately. Since the "100 Famous Sweets Shops" for Japanese sweets and traditional sweets opened, I've been going around to different Japanese sweets shops. I love sweets, but I'm not a fanatic. I prefer to have a little bit of sweets at the end of a meal, not a whole lot. But I've been encountering so many incredibly delicious Japanese sweets lately that I think I might get hooked. After going on a tour of the "100 Famous Shops" for bread and sweets, I thought I'd had enough after eating over 100 items. But I don't feel that way about Japanese sweets. I started with an excuse, but I ended up eating. My friend had the limited-time "Renka" for ¥1,848. * Strawberry * Strawberry Espuma * Matcha Ice Cream * Strawberry Matcha Financier * White Chocolate Cream * Cocoa Feuilletine * Vanilla Ice Cream * Strawberry Jelly It's a multi-layered parfait. It's strawberry season, after all. I was going to have teppanyaki dinner afterwards, but I couldn't resist trying a few different things. "Taste Comparison" for ¥1,419 "A dish where you can taste a variety of sweets, including chewy shiratama dumplings, homemade warabi mochi, matcha and hojicha jelly. You can choose from matcha syrup or black syrup." It was so delicious that I couldn't help but eat it. I shared the dumplings with my friend. I chose black syrup and poured it all over, but it was quite sweet. I should have poured it on gradually. They serve delicious tea in beautiful cups. I heard that the main store is in Gion, Kyoto. I'd like to visit there someday.
I was aware that a famous Kyoto shop I had a good impression of was located near Tokyo Station, so I visited this time. I went right after it opened, anticipating the crowds, so I was able to get a seat without waiting. I ordered the Special Tsujiri Parfait (Matcha) & Warabi Mochi. This parfait is delicious no matter how many times I eat it. It's mesmerizing. I especially recommend it to first-timers. The Warabi Mochi was completely different in terms of appearance, texture, and taste compared to the cheap ones I've only ever eaten at the supermarket. It feels less substantial compared to the parfaits. Revisited in August 2024 This day was relatively empty due to an approaching typhoon. The Special Tsujiri Parfait (Matcha) is consistently delicious as always.
