This bakery is located in the Gransta underground section, within the ticket gates of Tokyo Station. I often buy bread here after skiing or snowboarding, but this time I wanted to have breakfast at the station, so I visited at 7:00 am looking for a cafe space. Regarding the bread, it's simply delicious. The baguette has a crispy exterior and a fluffy interior. Usually, I buy ham and sausage in the snowy country and buy a baguette here to make a simple dinner at home. The croissant seems to be their specialty, and it was a classic, buttery, fluffy, yet substantial croissant. Regarding the cafe, it's a popular spot, and it's incredibly crowded, especially during the opening hours and being located in the station. I didn't notice it as much in the evening, but near opening time, perhaps due to staffing issues, there were lines spilling out into the hallway, but not all the registers were open, and there wasn't much guidance. This is a bit disappointing considering the high traffic in the station. If you can find a seat inside, there's a toaster so you can toast your bread, making it a good option for breakfast. Please note that the morning set is only available on weekdays. I hope they improve their operations in the future.

This bakery is located in the Gransta underground, inside the Tokyo Station ticket gates. They have a wide variety of breads. It's a self-service system where you choose your bread and place it on a tray. My favorite item here is the "Hiroo Custard Cream Puff" for 475 yen. You take the pastry shell to the register on a tray and order the cream there. They usually have custard and a seasonal flavor. It's gotten quite a bit more expensive compared to before, but I always end up buying one when I'm about to board the Shinkansen. The flaky pastry and custard cream are a perfect combination. You can use transportation IC cards for payment.

This is a popular bakery located in the basement of Tokyo Station. I got takeout before boarding the Shinkansen. This time, I ordered the popular No. 2 "Croissant: ¥324" and the sandwich "Variété: ¥637". The croissant was irresistible with its buttery aroma and crispy texture. The Variété was a luxurious sandwich with ham, roast chicken, egg, and tuna, but all the sandwiches were delicious. The croissant was so crispy that it was a struggle to eat it without spilling inside the Shinkansen, but it was so delicious that I recommend it. I heard that the croissant baking times are fixed at 7:00, 10:00, 14:00, and 18:00, so I want to try the freshly baked ones next time. I came here because I wanted something to go with my coffee. This time, I ordered the popular No. 3 "Pain au Chocolat: ¥367". The crispy bread dough and the sweet chocolate went well with the coffee. The crispy bread is very delicious. I will visit again. This time, I ordered the "Hiroo's Cream Puff (Bistache): ¥583". Only the pie crust was available at the store, and they filled it with cream at the register, which was a unique style. There are regular custard and bistache cream puffs, but only the bistache is limited to 50 pieces per day. This time, I was able to order it because it was still available at 3:00 PM on a weekday. The pie crust was still crispy as always, and the pistachio cream was not too sweet and had a good balance. I want to try the custard cream next time. This time, I had the "Petit Le An Butter Rouge: ¥540". They filled it with their special red wine-soaked raisin and cranberry paste and fermented butter at the register. The special paste and butter went well with the firm bread, and it was delicious. Unlike the croissants I've had before, it wasn't crispy, so it didn't crumble and I could enjoy it without any problems inside the Shinkansen. I will visit again.

I visited BURDIGALA TOKYO, a store located on the B1 floor of the Gransta in Tokyo Station. I got the following for takeout: Pain au chocolat ¥367 This is their No. 3 most popular bread, the pain au chocolat. The outside is crispy and the inside is moist. It's called pain au chocolat, so it has chocolate in it, but only a little bit. As a chocolate lover, I found it to be a bit underwhelming. I wonder what makes it so popular, being No. 3. I guess I need to visit more bakeries to understand as a novice. Next time I'll try the croissant. I wonder if the croissant and the pain au chocolat are made with the same dough? It was delicious! ♪

A bakery in the underground shopping mall of Tokyo Station🍞 Their concept is "elevating everyday life a little bit" ☀ I was able to enjoy some elegant bread 😋 There are about 10-15 seats, but with it being Tokyo Station, it's a bit of a competition for them, isn't it? 🤔 It might be difficult to plan to come here and sit down for a meal! ※ It seems to be constantly full, especially in the mornings.
