【Late October 2024, Solo Visit】 I wasn't actually going on a trip, but I felt like having an ekiben (train bento box) for a change, so I got off at Tokyo Station. It's located in the concourse (Gransta), but it was extremely crowded on a weekend, with a lot of people! Since I was buying dinner and a souvenir for my wife (at home), I took pictures of various bento boxes and sent them to her on LINE, asking for her opinion. It was a pretty tedious household procedure, but she said she wanted seafood, so I chose "Aomori's Luxury Bento." I wanted meat, so I chose "Large Shrimp Fry & Three-Origin Pork Miso Cutlet Bento." I took the bento boxes home. I ate them right away, and they were delicious! They were better than just ordinary bento boxes. Especially "Aomori's Luxury Bento" looked great, and my wife said it was delicious. However, I couldn't help but think that if I was going to pay around 1,500 yen for a bento box, I might as well eat at a restaurant. Maybe it's better to eat ekiben on the train after all. That's all.

I always rely on them when I'm traveling by Shinkansen. I usually buy either the "Nori Nori Ben" from the Tohoku Main Line Koriyama station or the "Beef Domanchuu" beef bowl bento from Yonezawa. Sometimes I get yakitori, which is very delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I bought the Deluxe Chicken Bento. It gets piping hot as soon as you pull the string. It gets hotter than I expected, so be careful not to burn yourself. The usual fried chicken and chicken rice! Delicious! Thank you for the meal.

This is a station bento shop located inside the JR lines ticket gate at Tokyo Station. They have a wide selection of bento from all over Japan, but it's always crowded no matter what time you go, so unless you have something specific in mind, it's probably better to buy elsewhere...

【Time】 I visited around 9:00 AM on a weekend. 【Crowds】 The store was quite crowded. ✔︎ Engawa Pressed Sushi The engawa was thick and had a good amount of fat. I usually don't like the sticky texture of pressed sushi rice, but this one wasn't too bothersome and overall it was delicious. There seemed to be plenty of engawa pressed sushi in stock at 9:00 AM, and they were even replenishing it. It seems they've significantly increased their stock. ✔︎ Salmon and Salmon Roe Rice Bowl The salmon was a bit dry, but it was still tasty. I probably won't order it again. ✔︎ Deep River Rice Bowl It was the most delicious, as expected. It was also incredibly affordable at under ¥1000, making it an amazing value. 【Service】【Atmosphere】 The shop is located right before the Shinkansen ticket gate. There are many different types of ekiben (train station lunch boxes) lined up, so it's fun to just browse. There were no particular issues with the customer service.
