The casual and unique atmosphere of the restaurant is American-inspired, with ample space between tables, creating a relaxed ambiance. This time, I ordered the Yakiniku Burger and French Fries for lunch. The Yakiniku Burger featured juicy meat with a delightful texture, perfectly complemented by lotus root and tomato, all packed with flavor. The bun was lightly toasted, offering a fluffy texture while effectively absorbing the meat juices and sauce. Each bite of the meat and bun released a burst of savory flavors. The fried chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with a satisfyingly crunchy texture. The French fries were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with just the right amount of salt, making them a perfect pairing for the burger. While Shibuya is known for its trendy cafes, this place stands out with its delicious food, a calm atmosphere, and a welcoming environment for both lunch with friends or a solo visit.
I visited this place after a friend recommended it. Apparently, they're known for their Waffle Chicken. As the name suggests, it's a unique and American dish with chicken on top of a waffle. I happened to have some free time, so I decided to stop by. It's about a 10-minute walk from JR Shibuya Station. It's closer to Harajuku, and you can easily get there from Miyashita Park. You go up the stairs to enter. The interior is very stylish with an American vibe. There are also counter seats, so it seems like you could easily come alone. They also sell clothes near the register, which suggests a strong fan base. The music playing is upbeat and the atmosphere is great. It seems like a popular spot for young people. The Waffle Chicken was delicious, and I'll definitely be back.
Waffle Chicken for ¥1,518 (tax included) I visited for lunch. The crispy chicken is topped with a generous amount of black pepper and maple syrup (available on the table, so you can add as much as you like). It's simply delicious! The salty-sweet flavor is perfectly balanced, and I devoured it in no time. The chicken is crispy and has a great texture. The waffle underneath is also crispy and delicious. The restaurant is spacious with large windows, creating an open and airy atmosphere. The interior is a blend of American and ethnic styles, creating a unique and unfamiliar space. Orders are placed using a QR code. I will definitely come back again.
American diner 'Moja in the House' is a restaurant that serves typical American dishes like hamburgers and french fries, similar to a 'mass-market eatery' in Japan. The interior is spacious, with a large seating capacity of over 120 people, including counter seats with power outlets, chairs, and sofas. The large windows and high ceilings create an even more expansive feel. This time, I was aiming for waffle chicken, considered a soul food in America. The sight of a mountain of large fried chicken pieces piled on top of a plain waffle is impressive in itself. However, you don't eat it as is. You pour the maple syrup that comes with it generously over the fried chicken and enjoy it! While not very common in Japan, dishes with sweet sauces on meat are found all over the world, and waffle chicken is one of them. It is said to have originated in American households as a way to repurpose leftover fried chicken and waffles. The maple syrup has a refreshing sweetness that doesn't linger, making it a perfect match for the savory flavor of the crispy chicken and the crispy exterior and fluffy interior of the waffle. It's a hearty and rough-and-ready dish, just the kind of thing Americans would love, but it's incredibly addictive. Don't be afraid to try it. I highly recommend it.
I recently had lunch here and it was wonderful. The colorful and stylish weekly changing lunch menu is priced very reasonably at around 1200-1600 yen (drinks are included!). Everything I've ordered so far has been delicious. I'm looking forward to trying the dishes I haven't had yet. I'll definitely be back! As a side note, I left my 'Nymph' (Pokemon) plush on the table and the waitress gently placed a float next to it, which I found very thoughtful (see the first photo).
