This popular coffee shop has six locations in Tokyo and Chiba, including its group store "COFFEE RIN." I visited around 5 PM on a weekday and there were only three other customers, so I was able to enter without waiting. The shop is spacious with both counter and table seating, making it suitable for both a quick break or a leisurely cafe time. I ordered the cake set (Rin Roll and mild coffee). The Rin Roll is filled with fresh cream and custard. The sponge cake is slightly firm and dense, which is delicious. The cream is also not too sweet and goes well with the coffee. The coffee is charcoal roasted, giving it a deep yet clear flavor. Adding milk makes it even milder. I had a relaxing and comfortable time. The staff were also very attentive. While it's usually crowded on weekends with a long queue, it was quite empty on a weekday evening, so it's a good time to visit. It was delicious, thank you for the meal.
I recently visited Rin Ginza 4-chome Honten, a coffee shop in Ginza known for its charcoal-roasted coffee. A friend suggested meeting there, and the atmosphere was truly charming. I sat at the counter, which had a slightly dim ambiance, but the aroma of coffee was absolutely delightful. I started with an iced coffee and a gateau chocolat cake set. The gateau chocolat had a hint of bitterness, which paired perfectly with the coffee. Later, I ordered a hot coffee, and the aroma was simply divine. I could see the coffee being prepared, and they meticulously ground the beans for each cup. It was delicious! Thank you for the wonderful meal!
After enjoying some tsukemen noodles, I craved something sweet and decided to visit this place. It's located just off the main street, a short walk from Higashi-Ginza Station! The shop is on the second floor, up a slightly steep staircase. The interior has a stylish ambiance with subdued lighting. There are plenty of counter and table seats, creating a spacious feel. I noticed many foreign customers as well. On this occasion, I ordered the gateau chocolat and iced coffee cake set. All the cakes are homemade, and there are many daily specials! It was hard to choose. For a cake set in Ginza, 1,300 yen is quite reasonable. The rich and dense gateau chocolat was delicious! The coffee had a deep body and a bitter, grown-up flavor. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
I visited on a weekend afternoon and was lucky enough to snag a seat at the counter, which happened to be open. The atmosphere had a classic, old-fashioned coffee shop feel, and it was nice to be able to watch the coffee being brewed from the counter. I ordered a cake set, and while the coffee alone tasted a bit weak, pairing it with the cake allowed me to fully appreciate its aroma. Personally, I recommend the set. There's a large fan behind the counter that makes a lot of noise, so those sensitive to sound might prefer a table. The seats are also a bit cramped, so the comfort level can vary depending on who you're sitting next to. There were also a lot of tourists, and when there was a wait, the conversations behind me were loud and distracting. I'd like to visit again on a weekday when it's less crowded.
【Time】 I visited around 3:00 PM on a weekend. 【Crowds】 There were two groups ahead of me, and I waited about 15 minutes. It's on the second floor in a less noticeable location, so I think it's a bit of a hidden gem. 【Taste】 ✔︎ Cake Set ¥1250 ・Rin Roll It had a good sweetness, but it wasn't a junky sweetness, it was a gentle flavor. It was a moist and soft roll. Personally, I think the gateau I had a taste of was better, with plenty of chocolate but a restrained sweetness, and it went well with the coffee. ・Blend Aroma: ★☆☆☆☆ Acidity: ★☆☆☆☆ Body: ★★☆☆☆ Bitterness: ★☆☆☆☆ It was light, refreshing, and had no strong flavor. I think anyone could enjoy it. Adding milk might make it a bit less impactful. 【Service】【Atmosphere】 The atmosphere was stylish, including the tableware. I asked for more cold water when mine ran out, but they didn't refill it. (No one else around me got refills either.) It felt like they were trying to discourage people from staying too long, or maybe just a lack of hospitality. I noticed some other rough spots at the counter. It's not a high-end place, so personally, I can accept it. Recommended Age: College students and up Usage Scenes: Friends, solo, dates
