The shrimp and green asparagus with tomato cream sauce is a real winner! Located a 3-minute walk from Ningyocho Station, I visited "Spaghetti Kokoro." Arriving around 6:30 PM on a weekday, there was no wait. I was able to walk right in. I ordered the shrimp and green asparagus with tomato cream sauce for ¥1,300, with a large portion (+¥100). It was served in about 15 minutes. The tomato cream sauce was rich and addictive. The pasta was cooked al dente, the perfect texture. The sauce clung beautifully to the pasta, and the combination of shrimp and asparagus was exquisite. It was delicious. I enjoyed it all the way to the last bite.
Located in Ningyocho, "Spaghetti Kokoro" is a spaghetti restaurant. I arrived around 11:35 am on a weekday. I was lucky to get a table right away, but it quickly filled up. It was a rainy and humid day, so I was lucky to not have to wait outside. I ordered the "Fresh Ham and Mushroom Cream Sauce", which was the daily special. The pasta was chewy and the creamy sauce was delicious. It had a rich and thick texture. The saltiness of the fresh ham was a nice accent. The portion size was quite large even for a regular order, but I think I could have gone for a large portion.
I heard that Hashiya in Nishi-Shinjuku had closed, so I decided to give it a try since I happened to be in the area. Even though it was near the end of lunchtime, there were about three people waiting in line, which really showed how popular it is. I ordered the uni (sea urchin) with extra rice and a bottle of beer, a combination I always get at Hashiya. It was just as delicious as I remembered, with that addictive flavor! Hashiya lets you choose between a spicy (stronger) flavor or a milder one, and while my friend thought the flavor was a bit too mild, they still enjoyed it immensely and said they wanted to go back soon. I'll definitely be stopping by again when I'm in the neighborhood! July 3, 2024
A friend recommended this place, saying their spaghetti was their personal No. 1, so I went with high expectations. I ordered the "Green Shiso, Mentaiko, Squid, and Sea Urchin" spaghetti. It came out in about 10 minutes. It was delicious! The flavor was incredible. The seafood umami and the green shiso aroma were not overpowering at all. It was a generous portion, but I devoured it. I was planning on just having one plate, but I ended up ordering a second one because I wanted to try something else. I've never done that before when eating spaghetti at a restaurant. I ordered the "Mountain Delights." This was amazing. Bamboo shoots, wood ear mushrooms, shimeji mushrooms, shiitake mushrooms, and bell peppers, all bursting with freshness. They were crunchy, but the umami of the vegetables came out in a juicy way. The spaghetti was a slightly sweet soy sauce flavor, and it went down smoothly. I devoured this one too. Thank you, Spaghetti Shin, and thank you to my friend for telling me about this place! This has definitely earned a spot in my personal spaghetti hall of fame. Be warned, you might overeat. Or maybe come with an empty stomach.
