Tabelog Rating: 3.63 Located in the basement of a prime location in Ginza's Sukiyabashi district, this ramen shop offers a wallet-friendly soy sauce ramen for ¥830. The soup has a unique flavor I've never tasted before. While there's a hint of MSG, the animal-based broth is delicious. The noodles are made with a high water content. This is a perfect, comforting ramen for a post-drinking meal.
Visited on July 23, 2024 at 11:20 AM: My stomach was rumbling in Ginza, so I was drawn in by the ramen sign. I bought a ticket and was guided to the counter. I thought ramen alone wouldn't be enough, so I also ordered the 'Nebuta-zuke Gohan' (pickled radish rice). The moment I took a sip of the special soy sauce ramen broth, I felt an instant surge of happiness. I've been to Aomori on business trips several times, but I don't remember ever having 'Nebuta-zuke' (pickled radish). I always end up blacking out after a few drinks, so maybe I did have it. The sticky texture clinging to the chopsticks felt similar to 'Matsumae-zuke' (pickled seafood). The flavorful pickles and white rice were a perfect match. If you're ever hungry in Ginza, this place is highly recommended.
Ramen Ichiro, located just a short distance from Ginza Station, is a rare find - a ramen shop right in the heart of this area. The restaurant is located in the basement and features a small counter with a few seats. It operates on a ticket system. I ordered the shoyu ramen, and its unique appearance hinted at a flavor unlike any other. The broth was light, with minimal animal-based flavors like chicken or pork, but it had a deep, rich taste. It was a strange sensation. The noodles were springy and curly, perfectly complementing the broth. The more I ate, the more I was captivated by this peculiar deliciousness. The chashu was thick and flavorful, a perfect match for the shoyu ramen. Overall, the ramen was well-balanced and incredibly light, yet packed with depth and deliciousness. It's a truly unique ramen experience you won't find anywhere else.
During a business trip in Tokyo, I was invited by a client for lunch a little after noon. They took me to a restaurant they highly recommended. They said the clam ramen was delicious, so I ordered it without hesitation. It was a delicious ramen with thin, straight noodles and large clams. It was very light and easy to eat. Thank you for the meal.
I saw on TV that the shops in the basement of Ginza are interesting, so I was excited just to see a ramen shop in the basement. It was during idol time, so there was only one customer before me. It's apparently from Aomori, but it was different from the niboshi-style ramen I know, it was more like a specialty Chinese-style ramen with soy sauce. It was the default ramen, so I don't know about the depth of flavor, but it's a hidden gem of a ramen shop.
