I dined here for dinner. I ordered a bottle of beer, simmered dishes, grilled silver salmon, and eggplant, and finished with rice and miso soup. The food is very reasonably priced. It's a precious restaurant where you can experience the atmosphere of Showa era. There were other dishes I wanted to try, so I'll definitely come back again.
A nostalgic, Showa-era style diner. It's always bustling with people, even young folks digging into their rice bowls. It's heartwarming to see girls holding their bowls too. This place has a homey atmosphere, like grandma's house, where it doesn't matter what you do. I'm enjoying a Kirin beer with braised beef and spinach. Here, you get your own drinks, whether it's bottled or by the glass. Just grab what you want from the fridge and pay with your empty bottles. I'm on my second Kirin with a grilled mackerel. You order individual dishes and add rice, miso soup, and pickles. The rice is served in a small bowl, but it's packed full. The place is full of people of all ages, chatting with each other, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The master, with his hunched back, and the grandma work tirelessly in the small space. Make sure to order twice, loudly, to the grandma. Take your time! 😅💦 After closing time, I had a chance to chat with the master, grandma, and some regulars. The grandma always sees you off at the door, saying, 'Be careful on your way home.' This place offers a meaningful experience of Showa-era charm and a precious time. I'm going to visit grandma again. It's delicious! This is a truly special place, full of Showa-era nostalgia that you can't miss.
I had a lunch set of mackerel grilled with salt, a regular rice bowl, and a clam miso soup for a total of 700 yen. Everything was delicious and a great value. The quality was higher than I expected for a cafeteria. The regular rice bowl was actually the size of a large rice bowl.
This is an order system where you choose one item at a time from the menu. You select the size of your rice and then order your side dish. It's affordable, so you can order a variety of items without breaking the bank. The miso soup was delicious. I arrived a little before noon on a Saturday, around 11:30. Soon after, customers who seemed to be regulars from the neighborhood started coming in, and the place was packed in no time. The problem was that someone started smoking, so I ate quickly and left.
**Lunchtime** This is a traditional, old-fashioned diner that's becoming increasingly rare these days. It's full of handmade charm. From the outside, you can't tell what's on the menu, so it might be intimidating for first-timers. Once you step inside, a friendly motherly figure will bring you a glass of water. I was feeling hot and not very hungry, so I ordered tuna sashimi, half a bowl of rice, and clam miso soup. It was all delicious and very satisfying. The dishes are mainly fish and vegetables, with some side dishes that would make you crave a beer. If you're in the mood for home-cooked meals from the past, this is the perfect place. **Dinnertime Addition** I was so impressed with the food and atmosphere that I went back for dinner. I ordered tuna sashimi, beef tripe, simmered pumpkin, egg omelet, dried mackerel, grated radish, grilled squid, grilled mackerel, taro, cod roe omelet, rice, and miso soup. Everything was absolutely perfect. It was all delicious without needing any extra seasoning. The pickled vegetables were also incredibly tasty. They went perfectly with the Kirin Lager bottled beer. All the dishes were simple and highlighted the natural flavors of the ingredients. They were all incredibly delicious. There wasn't a single dish that wasn't good, in fact, everything was amazing. The owner and the regulars were all incredibly kind and I had a wonderful time. Even though I was a first-timer, I didn't feel out of place at all. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. You pour your own bottled beer and sake from the tap. It's an unspoken rule of this place. We were a group of three, and after all the food and drinks, we didn't even spend ¥3,000 each. It's amazing to find such a great place with such incredible value. I'm so happy to have discovered it. If you're looking for delicious, simple, homemade food and bottled beer, or if you want to feel like a salaryman from the Showa era, this place is highly recommended.
