I stopped by this bar while waiting for my camera to get a screen protector at a nearby camera shop. They have Hoppy and Shitamachi Highball. The snacks are a bit small for the price, but they're perfect for a quick drink. I had some skewers here, so I've now been to both of the bars in this area.

This day marked the 100th anniversary of Juraku, with a special event featuring sashimi for 100 yen and sake for 100 yen! Arriving at noon, I was able to get a table without waiting. The restaurant quickly filled up, becoming almost full. The sashimi included tuna and salmon, both delicious for just 100 yen. The sake was also 100 yen per cup, making it a great deal. Drinking it from a 100th anniversary commemorative masu (wooden sake cup) added a subtle aroma of the wood, making it a truly enjoyable experience. The whole roasted garlic was a bit much for one person, but it was tasty. The medium fatty tuna tempura looked like it would be rare inside on the menu, but it was actually cooked through.

I visited in April 2024. They accept credit cards. I went around 3 PM on a Friday. Ueno is usually bustling with foreign tourists, but luckily I was able to enter smoothly that day. Even though I was alone, I was seated at a table, which was very helpful since I had a lot of luggage from Osaka. When I looked at the menu, I saw 'Happy Hour'! I couldn't resist ordering. The mobile ordering system was also very convenient. That day, I ordered a few items besides the famous yakitori skewers. The crab miso 'ルイベ' was particularly interesting and delicious. It was like a frozen crab miso cube.

We visited this place as our second stop after already having lunch. They have a wide selection of sake, though it might be a bit pricey. However, considering the air-conditioned interior, it's worth it. We booked a semi-private room through Hot Pepper, but it turned out to be a regular table, which made us question the definition of a semi-private room.

Good evening. It's perfectly fine to dine alone. I enjoyed a leisurely and relaxing meal. The night in Ueno is still young. (^。^)
