This is located on the 8th floor of Nihonbashi Takashimaya. It's like a high-end food court, featuring the Imperial Hotel's Western cuisine, Nodaiwa's eel, and Yamatoya Sangen's Japanese cuisine. You can choose your favorite menu, whether it's Western food from the Imperial Hotel, eel from Nodaiwa, or Japanese food from Sangen, which is convenient. As the name "Tokubetsu" (Special) suggests, the atmosphere is refined, and the service is impeccable. (Although the clientele is quite ordinary.) The food is, of course, delicious. The prices are on the higher side, but considering the ambiance and service, I think it's worth it. They also change your tea at just the right time, making for a pleasant dining experience from start to finish. One thing I noticed is that there are no windows, so it lacks a sense of openness. You could say it's a calm and relaxing environment for a leisurely meal. Another thing is that the air conditioning is a bit too strong, making it a bit chilly. Thank you for the meal.
A friend's CEO recommended a delicious eel restaurant in Tokyo, so I went to check it out. The elevator person, thankfully, hadn't gone extinct! The heavy, old-fashioned elevator took us up without needing to press a button, and we were greeted at the elegant entrance. After waiting for about 30 minutes, we were seated. The eel was delicious, but the service was truly exceptional. Reservations are available after 3 PM, but before that, it's first come, first served.
The hospitality was exceptional, providing exactly what I needed. The clientele was mostly composed of well-to-do senior citizens, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere. I enjoyed the Imperial Hotel's special menu, particularly the delicious filet steak.
The ambiance is the main draw. While the price is quite high and the atmosphere is relaxing, there are better options for this price point, hence the rating. The food was mediocre for about half of it. I forgot to take pictures, but there was sushi. Honestly, the tuna at Sushi Zanmai was tastier. We had red wine, sparkling wine, and Mori-Izo, and the bill came out to around 25,000 yen.
Reservations are not accepted during the day. This restaurant has a unique atmosphere that attracts affluent customers with plenty of time, a rarity in other restaurants. It's a classic, upscale dining hall in a downtown department store, worth visiting just for the ambiance. The prices reflect this exclusivity, ranging from ¥5,000 to ¥6,000 per person. This restaurant has a long tradition of offering a unique dining experience, allowing guests to enjoy dishes from three renowned establishments – Imperial Hotel (Western cuisine), Noda-iwa (eel), and Yamato-ya Sangen (Japanese cuisine) – all at the same table.
