✨A Sublime Experience in Kinshicho: Futtoppara-ya✨ ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー 📍Access & Visit Time ☑︎3-minute walk from Kinshicho Station on the JR Sobu Rapid Line ☑︎Visited at 6:00 PM on a weekday ☑︎Reservation made in advance (seats only) ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー ▼Order Tuna Sashimi (¥690) Tuna Rare Cutlet (¥690) Thick-Cut Egg Omelet with Bonito Broth (¥590) Premium Grilled Dried Ray Fin (¥490) Several types of sake ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー Used this place as the first stop for weekday drinking. They have a diverse selection of sake, and you can enjoy exquisite "side dishes" that pair perfectly with it. The tuna rare cutlet is unlike anything you'll find elsewhere, with its crispy batter and rare tuna. The dried ray fin is also highly recommended. The tables are spacious and comfortable. There were also groups enjoying banquets. It was delicious. Thank you for the meal 😋
I visited on Saturday, the first day of the three-day weekend, at 9:30 am. The restaurant was packed, so I'm glad I made a reservation. While the sake is great, the food is also excellent! The cucumber and octopus with salt-preserved kelp namul (a daily special?) and the rare-cooked white liver were both delicious. The single-person set is a great deal! It includes horse liver sashimi, white fish sashimi, two 590 yen sakes, a starter, and comes out to 2000 yen. It's much cheaper than ordering everything separately! I highly recommend making a reservation during peak season!
I found this place while looking for a second stop after having a few drinks in Kinshicho. The exterior had a nice atmosphere, so I decided to check it out. I sat at a table and ordered a draft beer. They brought out an appetizer. It was a chilled chawanmushi (savory egg custard), and it was absolutely delicious. The smooth texture and flavor were amazing. This called for sake instead of beer. I relaxed and enjoyed some cold sake. The atmosphere was great, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I had overeaten at the first place, so I apologized to the staff and left. I definitely want to come back here again.
As we gradually try to forget about the pandemic, in the midst of the scorching heat of July 2023, we held a company drinking party, our first in about four years. This time, it was a small gathering of just four close colleagues. We decided to go to "Nihonshu Bar Futtoppara-ya", a favorite spot of one of our female part-time employees, located near the north exit of Kinshicho Station. Arriving at 5 PM, the restaurant was still relatively empty, allowing us to enjoy a relaxed drinking experience. The restaurant itself is quite small, with two tatami rooms, a counter, and about four to five tables, making it unsuitable for large groups. Since our workplace is in Toranomon, we planned to take the Sobu Line from Shinbashi Station to Kinshicho. We couldn't help but notice the site of the recent gas explosion as we passed by Shinbashi Station. The food, particularly the meat dishes, was delicious and beautifully presented in stylish plates. The sake was served in wine glasses, making it a place that seems to appeal to women. The sake is sold in half-go (0.5 go, 90 ml) portions, starting at around ¥400, offering a good selection of varieties at reasonable prices. I found this system to be quite enjoyable. Popular brands like Junmai Daiginjo 'Jukuda' and 'Jikon' were listed as 'priced by the day'. I tried to order 'Jikon', but it was sold out, so I couldn't find out the price. I should have asked, but I slightly regret not doing so. I imagine it would have been around ¥1,000 for 90 ml. My palate had become accustomed to the uninspired, recycled appetizers served at the 'Dofu-ro' restaurant in Ikebukuro that I frequent. Therefore, the egg tofu served here, with its perfectly matched sauce, was a delightful surprise and a pleasant memory.
During my Golden Week trip to Tokyo, I dropped in on the first day of my five-day holiday. There was only one seat at the counter, so I was seated there. As I was looking at the menu, I was recommended a solo drinking set, so I ordered that. I love sake, but I can't drink a lot, so I was very happy to see that they had nearly 30 different types of sake, and you could order as little as 5 shaku (about 1.8 ounces). The set had a limited selection of sake for ¥590 or less, but most of the premium sake was also under ¥590, so I was very satisfied. They also gave me a chaser from the start, which was thoughtful and allowed me to enjoy the sake without getting too drunk. The food was also good, even though it was part of the set. The tofu appetizer was soft and delicious. And the crab cream croquette, which I chose based on my own preference, was a big hit. It came with crab miso mayonnaise and was absolutely delicious. The edamame (black beans) I ordered as a side dish were also well-seasoned and good. For this price, the quality was very high. I got happily drunk on the delicious sake and snacks. I will definitely stop by again if I have the chance.
