I understand why it only gets four stars, even though it deserves praise. There's a certain "pressure" to it, you know? But a country bumpkin like me would give it five stars. I'm a poor country bumpkin who can't visit often, but I give it five stars because "they pay close attention to their customers, always say 'thank you' and 'excuse me' politely, and are very kind to those who are willing to compromise." When I tried to use the cafe on the second floor and it was crowded, they kindly guided me to the third floor. I'm a country bumpkin, so I'm sure I make a lot of mistakes, but even when I feel the pressure and apologize for being in the way, they're always so kind to me. My husband, who grew up in the countryside, said, "Don't worry, even if you're small, you'll be fine!" and we went for their crowded New Year's lunch. It was a truly memorable experience. I think people from Tokyo who have "better, freshly baked bread shops" nearby wouldn't understand. Please take care of yourself and keep up the good work. I'll work hard in the countryside so I can visit your shop when I go to Ginza.
A safe bet bakery with a variety of breads, including anpan (sweet bean paste buns). Nothing particularly stands out as delicious, but it's reliably good. The fact that they've maintained this consistency for so long is impressive. The rye bread is reliably tasty. It's good enough. It's good enough, they make you think. They now accept credit cards. My recommendation is the reliably delicious anpan.
The cafe is on the second floor. I visited on a weekday afternoon. All the seats were taken. There were many elderly female customers. I had lunch (sandwich, salad, dessert, drink). The portions were small, but the sandwich filling was tuna mayo with a curry flavor, and it tasted good. The service from the elderly male staff was excellent.
I love the garlic toast at Kimura-ya on the first floor. I also enjoyed the chestnut and pumpkin anpan. Today, I had soup and smoked salmon salad on the second floor, which were also delicious.
The bakery offers a variety of breads, with regular bread and anpan (sweet bean paste buns) displayed in separate sections. The first floor is the bakery, the second floor is a cafe, and the third floor is a restaurant. The store is filled with a delightful aroma, and there were freshly baked goods available. The anpan came in both individually wrapped and freshly baked options. The bread was consistently delicious, as expected.
