Totally geared towards tourists! The melon pan was overpriced and not even that good. The ice cream inside was cheap-tasting and not my favorite. The service was fast and friendly, though.
I had a melon pan with a generous amount of chocolate sauce and whipped cream! It was so filling that I was full after just one. It was a truly voluminous treat! The melon pan was crispy and went well with the cream. It was absolutely delicious!
I visited around 1:00 PM on a weekday and there were about three groups waiting in line, but I was seated quickly after only five minutes. The menu included melon pan with ice cream, soft serve ice cream, and jumbo melon pan, which cost 250 yen each. If you eat it there, it's freshly baked, but if you take it home, it's not freshly baked. Freshly baked melon pan is only available for dine-in, so I took a jumbo melon pan to go because I was short on time that day. When I warmed it up in a toaster, it tasted like it was freshly baked. The outside was crispy and the inside was fluffy and delicious! ♡ It's bigger than a store-bought melon pan, but it's light and I ate it all in one go. The takeout bag said the best-before date or expiration date was the next day at room temperature!
A famous melon pan shop in Asakusa, with otherworldly deliciousness! It's a melon pan unlike any I've ever tasted before. You can enjoy freshly baked melon pan if you eat inside the shop. The melon pan is fluffy, light, and easy to eat. I was impressed by this kind of melon pan. It's worth trying. Thank you for the delicious meal.
I visited in mid-March 2021. The shop was supposed to open at 10:00 am (since it was a holiday), but it had a relaxed vibe and didn't actually open until almost 10:30 am. Since eating is prohibited on Nakamise-dori, I enjoyed a jumbo melon pan inside the shop, which has a retro Showa-era atmosphere. They told me that if you want to eat freshly baked melon pan, you have to eat it inside the shop, as they don't offer freshly baked ones for takeout. It was a truly enormous melon pan, big enough to hide my son's face, but it was so fluffy and delicious that we devoured it in no time!
