This is a tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet) restaurant specializing in courses. Reservations are required. We chose a course that included seafood. The meat was a rare cut I had never tasted before, and everything was simply perfect. I can't even find the words to describe it. It's an amazing experience that will change everyone's perception of tonkatsu. It's a highly recommended restaurant in Ginza. *This restaurant offers English service.
Have you ever seen such a beautiful tonkatsu? Just looking at the pink cross-section makes my mouth water. ◆ Course ・ Salad ・ Spicy Sichuan Pepper Pork ・ Fillet ・ Loin ・ Shoulder Loin ・ Inner Thigh ・ Minced Meat Cutlet ・ Crab Cream Croquette ・ Additional) Pike Conger Eel and Plum ・ Additional) Corn ・ Pickles ・ Naemoku Miso Soup ・ Shaved Ice (Peach) I was reminded that the taste of tonkatsu can vary so much depending on the cut, even between "Fillet", "Loin", "Shoulder Loin", and "Inner Thigh". First, I ate it plain to savor the original flavor. Then, I added salt. The salt brought out the sweetness of the fat. It's also delicious with mustard or sauce, but I definitely prefer salt. The "Minced Meat Cutlet" is juicy and flavorful! Once you eat it here, you won't be able to eat it anywhere else! It's the best minced meat cutlet. "Crab Cream Croquette" is one of my favorites. But this one was on a whole other level! It was packed with crab meat, a truly blissful experience. I ordered two summery dishes as additions. First, "Pike Conger Eel and Plum". It's a work of art! The transparent, almost silver pike conger eel, the bright red plum, and the green of the wasabi and shiso. It's visually stunning and delicious! And then the "Corn". What a high sugar content! It's like dessert. The rice is chewy, like mochi rice! I enjoyed it with highball when eating it with salt, and with rice when eating it with sauce. Delicious rice always boosts my mood! The chef explains each cut and how to eat it. I feel like having knowledge deepens the flavor. This is an experience you can't find anywhere else, enjoying tonkatsu as a course. I want to visit again to eat delicious tonkatsu. ◆ Location About a 2-minute walk from Ginza Station B3 Exit ◆ Interior Counter seats and one table ◆ Payment Cards accepted
I visited for the 11:30 AM slot on a weekday, and there was no wait due to my reservation. I booked the 5,500 yen course. You can enjoy tonkatsu with different flavors depending on the cut of meat. It was a day when I felt like tonkatsu was a drink. It's a pretty large portion, so I recommend going with an empty stomach. Everyone else around me was a tourist, and I felt a bit out of place. They can explain things in English, so I would definitely bring foreign friends here! I would also like to visit again on my own.
We had lunch there. While it was inconvenient that everyone had to order the same set menu (additional orders were possible after arriving), I was impressed by how the staff explained the different cuts of meat and recommended ways to eat them in English, even to foreign tourists. I think they must have chosen to have a set menu to provide good food and service to both Japanese and foreign tourists. I felt their consideration and effort. I wondered why the dessert was shaved ice, but it was very delicious. Considering the quality of the food, service, and atmosphere, the price was reasonable, so it was no surprise that there were many foreign tourists.
This isn't the place to go if you're craving a hearty tonkatsu meal. It's more about experiencing a variety of cuts. You can try different parts of the pork that you don't usually see. It's a great place to take someone visiting Tokyo. But reservations are booked up pretty far in advance. It's understandable, though, since there are a lot of international tourists. (:3_ヽ)_✈️
