Les Caves de Taillevent, a restaurant supervised by the three-Michelin-starred French restaurant Taillevent. The wine selection is extensive, featuring many producers not commonly found in Japan. While specializing in French wines, they also offer a selection of Italian wines. The dishes are carefully chosen to complement the wines. The skilled chef's cuisine is exquisite! The lunch menu offers four choices, and the affordable lunch course provides excellent value for money and delicious food. It's great that you can also enjoy a tasting of a single glass of wine. There are also single dishes, tapas-style menus paired with a glass of wine, perfect for a quick stop after work. Coffee, tea, and soft drinks are also available, so you can enjoy yourself even if you don't drink wine. It's a great place to stop for a drink after or during your shopping trip, like a cafe. The desserts are also delicious, making it a perfect spot to relax and unwind in the calm atmosphere.
While surrounded by restaurants, this place has the feel of a wine shop. You can enjoy a lunch set prepared by a renowned grand maison. The interior is bistro-like, and you can choose from a variety of drinks, including wine and sparkling wine. The salad, main course, and dessert all have a local flavor. Even though the pandemic is over, some parts of Europe are still difficult to travel to. So, it might be a good idea to get a taste of France here.
Le Cave de Taillevent Tokyo, located in the Nihonbashi Takashimaya, is a wine shop where you can purchase bottles and enjoy a meal with a ¥1,000 corkage fee. This allows you to enjoy wine at a more affordable price than a typical restaurant, paying only the enoteca retail price plus the ¥1,000 fee. I had the LOUIS ROEDERER BRUT VINTAGE ROSE (2014) and CHATEAU LE PRIEURE (2011). While the majority of wines sold are from around 2017, it would be perfect if they offered more older vintages. Nearby restaurants include Noda-iwa, Ten-ichi, Imperial Hotel, and Imahan downstairs. The new building also houses Focacceria La Brianza. Nihonbashi Takashimaya has a wide variety of restaurants.
A hidden gem, a cozy cafe I don't want to tell anyone about. Their lunch sets are a great deal! You can even choose wine for your drink. The price varies depending on the main dish. The beef stew is delicious!! It's a great place to relax. All the other restaurants on the top floor of the department store were packed and chaotic, but this place felt like a different world. The contrast was amazing.
Located near the event space within Takashimaya, its presence feels somewhat out of place. However, this is not meant in a negative way; in fact, it feels fitting in a way, given its location. As it collaborates with Enoteca, the wines are undoubtedly excellent, offering peace of mind. The food, crafted under the strict standards of Taillevent, is also quite diverse, with each dish being substantial, which is a welcome aspect. The impeccable wine pairings with these dishes create a blissful experience for wine lovers. While they offer wines by the glass, they also have unique weekend sets and, of course, the option to purchase bottles and enjoy them on-site. Personally, I appreciate the fact that there are usually fewer customers, allowing for a more relaxed experience. Though I apologize to the staff for saying this, they are truly exceptional, making this a truly valuable establishment.
