I visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. This popular spice curry and biryani specialty shop is located in the basement, down a side street off of Dogenzaka, which you can reach by going up from Shibuya Station. This time, I ordered the First Love Chicken (¥1,200) with one curry. The beautiful blue plate was adorned with colorful pickles and an egg, making it look luxurious. The spice level was milder than I expected, and the umami of the seafood broth was strong. The chicken was tender and chunky. I mixed it with the pickles, added some chili powder from the table, and enjoyed the changing flavors until I finished it all. The lingering spice aftertaste was refreshing and good.
I was craving delicious curry in Shibuya, so I chose a highly-rated restaurant based on reviews. To put it simply, it was absolutely delicious, just as the reviews said. I ordered the three-curry set, which included: 1) First Love Chicken, 2) Butter Shrimp, and 3) Spice Lamb Keema. Each curry was delicious on its own, but the lamb keema was my favorite with its bold spices and fun texture. However, I also enjoyed mixing the remaining curries together when about 40% was left. The flavors of the curry and side dishes blended together, creating a new and delicious curry. The endless possibilities of mixing made it truly amazing! Although I only had curry, I'm confident that the biryani would be equally delicious. I'll definitely be back to try the other curries and the biryani next time!
This is a delicious spice curry restaurant based on Sri Lankan and South Indian cuisine. When I crave curry in Shibuya, I often go to Hatsukoi. If you're going directly from Shibuya Station, I recommend going through Mark City. Everything is delicious, so I often order a combination of curries. The Hatsukoi Chicken, which uses Maldivian fish stock, is a personal must-try, as it appeals to the Japanese love of dashi broth. The special curry that day was a South Indian street curry, which was a very flavorful curry with a spicy, sour, and aromatic blend of spices. The curry is fun to eat, with a variety of flavors, textures, and aromas, including side dishes. The mango lassi is a thin, watery type. The restaurant is located in a basement with weak cell phone reception, but there is Wi-Fi available, and instructions are provided at each seat.
We entered the restaurant with four people a little after lunchtime. Because we were seated close to the people next to us, we asked if we could move the tables closer, but we were coldly told no. So, be aware of this if you are going with a group. The curry was a double-curry with a large portion of rice, costing 1,300 yen. It was authentic and good, but I think it might be divisive, and it was lukewarm, almost cold. The atmosphere of the restaurant itself is great, so it's a shame. There are many curry restaurants in the area, so I don't think I'll be going back. They also don't allow separate checks.
I was in Dogenzaka and wanted to eat curry nearby, so I came here. ● 3 types of curry ・ First Love Chicken ・ Coriander Shrimp ・ Special Curry/Sri Lankan Summer Green Curry ● Mini Biryani ● Chai (hot) I ordered all of them. I ate too much, I should have ordered a small portion of rice. The mini biryani was actually quite a decent size. But it was delicious so I don't regret it. The Coriander Shrimp was my favorite, it was a little spicy but delicious. The Sri Lankan Summer Green Curry was a unique green curry, with a hidden flavor of white miso. The chai was also delicious, a little sweet.
