I visited for dinner in October 2024. The location is easy to find, across from the Mitsukoshi Shin-kan (new building). The restaurant has well-separated seating, allowing for a relaxed dining experience. I ordered the duck seiro (cold soba noodles with duck), tempura seiro, and dashimaki (rolled omelet). The dashimaki arrived quickly, steaming hot and clearly freshly made, which was delicious. The duck in the duck seiro's dipping broth was thinly sliced, which felt a bit lacking, but it was easy to eat and I think it worked well. The duck broth was flavorful and delicious. The soba noodles seemed freshly made, with a nice aroma and a refined feel. The tempura in the tempura seiro was also freshly fried and crispy, which was great. The only downside was that there seemed to be few staff members, making it difficult to order things.
My favorite soba noodle restaurant in Nihonbashi. Their duck seiro is delicious, but their herring soba is also excellent. The herring is grilled with a sweet and savory glaze and placed on top. The soba noodles are low in carbohydrates, and the herring is rich in protein, making it a great choice for seniors and those who are physically active. It's especially good in the hot weather. You can get your salt and protein intake all at once. Be sure to try it after walking around Nihonbashi in the middle of summer. By the way, they also offer barley tea.
I visited this soba noodle restaurant for a typical Tokyo-style 'soba-no-mi' (drinking soba noodles). I forgot to take many pictures... The soba noodles and sake snacks were both excellent! 👌 I'd like to come back for lunch next time.
The atmosphere was inviting. The soba noodles were freshly ground daily, and they were delicious. I thought they might be a bit thin, but they were fine for a seiro (cold soba noodles). I ordered the duck seiro, as it was recommended. I think thicker noodles would have been a better match for the duck dipping sauce. The dipping sauce came with plenty of cooked duck and one tsukune (meatball). Apparently, the warm soba duck nanban (noodles in a hot duck broth) comes with grilled duck (I want to try that!). I love soba yu (soba tea), and it was served promptly, which was great.
It was so warm for February that I was thinking of having some cold udon, but there weren't many udon shops around Mitsukoshimae... so I decided on soba instead! This soba restaurant, "Momijigawa," was nearby. I ordered the "Zaru Soba + Mini Salt Tempura Donburi (¥1610)." I thought soba alone wouldn't be enough, so I added the mini tempura donburi. The soba-mae (pre-soba) menu was extensive, and even on a weekday afternoon, there were salarymen enjoying drinks. 🍶 The service from the ladies was also excellent. ◯
