I bought a selection of chocolate madeleines as a gift for a friend. The presentation and packaging were both stylish. I also bought some for myself, and enjoyed the different levels of cocoa intensity. The taste was good. The staff member who helped me was average in terms of customer service.
I was excited to visit the cafe at Toyosu because I had been to the one in Hibiya Midtown. The baked goods are perfect for gifts. They cost around 200 to 400 yen each, but they are rich and delicious, making you feel happy. The chestnut marron was a limited-time offering for about 350 yen. I want to try their cakes again.
I've never experienced such terrible customer service. I asked for a few individually wrapped candies to be put together as a gift, but the staff member asked if I was taking them home. I repeated my request, but they just silently packed the bag without any response or acknowledgment. The contents seemed a bit sparse, so I tried to buy some more, but the female staff members exchanged a mocking glance and laughed. I love the sweets here and always buy them as gifts, but I think I'll have to shop elsewhere from now on. I rarely write reviews, but this experience was that bad. I assume it was a part-timer, but do the full-time staff plan to improve this? A lack of friendliness wouldn't be a problem at all. But not responding, making eye contact and laughing mockingly, that's just plain rude, even before we get to customer service. I love the products, so I really hope they can improve their customer service. I understand now why everyone else has been saying the same thing.
