I recently purchased the "Melting Curry Nan," a unique and delicious curry bread that has gained a reputation for its excellence, from "Ginza Kimuraya Ginza Mitsukoshi Store"! While typical curry bread involves wrapping curry in dough and deep-frying it, this curry nan is apparently made differently. Ginza Kimuraya's Melting Curry Nan is said to be made by wrapping curry in extremely fluffy dough and lightly heating it, without deep-frying. I came across an article recommending "lightly baking it in an oven until the dough turns a light brown" and immediately put it into practice. While it's delicious even eaten as is, with its fluffy curry nan texture, baking it elevates the flavor to a whole new level! (^_^)v
At the department store basement location, you can purchase their famous anpan (sweet bean paste bun), as well as their "melting curry naan." The melting curry naan has a soft and chewy dough, delicious curry, and is not fried, making it easy to eat. It's a unique item you won't find anywhere else. After buying anpan or other breads and sweets that are only available at the main store, I always make sure to stop by the department store basement location.
Kimuraya's Ham and Egg Bread I visited "Ginza Kimuraya Ginza Mitsukoshi Store", which is directly connected to Ginza Station's underground. It's located on the B2 floor of Mitsukoshi. I arrived around 12 pm on a Sunday, and there were a few people in front of the store. I was able to check out quickly. I bought a Ham and Egg bread for 340 yen. The combination of egg filling and ham is a classic and delicious. I enjoyed it until the very last bite.
This is Kimura-ya, located on the second basement floor of Ginza Mitsukoshi Main Store, right in the heart of Ginza. While the main store is also located on Ginza's main street, this branch is conveniently situated within Mitsukoshi's basement, allowing for a more relaxed shopping experience. It's right in front of you as you step off the escalator. Next door is Johan, famous for its bread. Kimura-ya offers a wide variety of baked goods, including traditional Japanese anpan (sweet bean paste buns), as well as Western-style pastries and breads. I highly recommend their assortment sets, which are available for around ¥800 and offer great value. The prices are very reasonable, making it an accessible and enjoyable experience for everyone.
Chocolate Coronet for 330 yen (delivery price). It was delicious! It had that classic chocolate coronet taste, but the bread was also delicious and the chocolate was very sweet.
