This fried potato and beer shop in Asakusa has been on my radar for a while now, as it always has a long queue on weekends. This time, I tried the "Corne Oaked," a Belgian beer, paired with their fried potatoes. The beer had a smooth texture and sweetness, followed by a long, elegant bitterness and a subtle hint of the woody aroma from its maturation in oak barrels, reminiscent of whiskey. Next up were the fried potatoes, cooked at high temperatures, resulting in a texture that went beyond crispy and into a satisfyingly crunchy, almost crackling, experience. The creamy, slightly tangy sour cream and onion sauce, with its rich onion flavor, was a perfect match for the potatoes. It was delicious. The weekend lines are truly impressive, but if you visit on a weekday evening, it's relatively empty. Why not drop by and enjoy a beer?

This is a great place for fries! It's less crowded on weekdays. They also have a loyalty card. However, the store's rules are a bit strict... like not being allowed to park your bike in front of the store, having to sit in the back (I was asked to move even though there was no one else there), and the way the staff spoke was unpleasant. It's definitely something you'd expect in Asakusa.

The menu offers three sizes of fries: PETIT, TALL, and GRANDE, and you can add your favorite dipping sauce. 😊 You can also order drinks like beer when dining in, so it's recommended to enjoy your fries with a beer while relaxing inside. 🎵 This time, I ordered the TALL size with whipped cream using Échiré butter as the dipping sauce, and since I was craving it, I also ordered a dark beer 🍺. The taste was amazing - crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside! 😆 The fries are delicious even without dipping sauce, with just the right amount of salt, but dipping them in the sauce adds another dimension of flavor, making you want to eat them endlessly. 😂 This is a must-visit for potato lovers!

The food was crispy and fluffy, absolutely delicious! I chose the truffle mayonnaise for dipping, and it was rich yet refreshing, making it easy to eat. I didn't feel any heaviness in my stomach. It was quite crowded, so we ended up eating outside as there weren't any tables available inside.
