I think the cookies at City Bakery are 100 times better than the ones at the cookie specialty store in Ginza SIX! I love their scones and cookies and buy them often. The quality of the ingredients really stands out, and you're sure to be surprised by how delicious they are! I gave some chocolate chunk cookies to my coworkers as a gift, and they all raved about how big and delicious they were. They were a huge hit!
Visited in June 2024. City Bakery, located in the basement of Tokyu Plaza Ginza. While they have expanded to many locations now, this particular store has been around for a while. I used to frequent it for their eat-in options, but haven't been there much lately. I was craving a burger, but unfortunately, they were sold out. I ended up getting a chocolate mint shake and an American cherry cream puff, and tried their deli for the first time (cold pasta). The chocolate mint shake was quite sweet and thin, making it feel heavy. On the other hand, the deli was surprisingly delicious, exceeding my expectations. It was a pleasant discovery.
The shop is a bit small, but it's one of my favorite bakeries. I often go there for breakfast. The portions are generous and the food is delicious, making it my favorite breakfast spot. I was able to bring my baby in a stroller and sit down without any problems!
• Carrot Cake ¥637 • Blend Coffee ¥484 (Drink Set -¥100) • Lemon & Ginger Soda (iced) ¥550 This is a place I've been frequenting lately when I have some time in Ginza. The City Bakery, Tokyu Plaza Ginza store! It's directly connected to the station, has a relatively large number of seats, and even has power outlets, making it a space where you can relax and take your time. It's perfect for working, of course, but also for killing time during a short wait. And oh, I absolutely love their carrot cake. I love the bold, imposing visual presence. The texture is moist and chewy, with a generous amount of honey, moisture, and oil. The carrots are finely chopped, and there are large chunks of nuts and raisins. Then there's the sweetness of the chocolate chips and the perfect match of the orange peel's acidity. The spice flavor comes through gradually and is just right. The rich, mellow texture and gentle sweetness are the best! Another highlight is the incredibly thick cream cheese frosting on top. The creamy, mild cream cheese is accented by a subtle hint of orange peel acidity. It's still so delicious. It's not too strong, so I recommend it to carrot cake beginners. This day, I stayed for so long that the blend coffee I ordered wasn't enough. I also got a Lemon & Ginger Soda. It's refreshing and clean, but also has a touch of sweetness. The bubbly sensation is perfect for a hot day. Delicious, large carrot cake and delicious drinks make for a happy time. I have a feeling I'll be coming here a lot from now on. Thank you for the meal.
