I recently enjoyed delicious wine and food at a restaurant in Shibuya called "Chinois." It's located on the 8th floor of the building right next to Don Quijote in Shibuya. The restaurant is quite spacious and has a calm atmosphere, with seating on the second floor as well. We started with a toast of champagne. For the evening, we ordered the Chinoiserie course for 9,800 yen, and added the pairing course with 8 wines for an additional 7,480 yen. The meal began with a single dish of mozuku seaweed. The crispy bread was served with olive oil, and surprisingly, salt also went well with it. Then, the wine pairing began. What was impressive was that each of the three appetizers was served with a different wine. The "Yamaguchi Prefecture White Squid and Podded Beans with Grapefruit Herb Marinade" was a summery dish with the chewy texture of squid and the refreshing acidity of grapefruit. The "Yamaguchi Hagi Prefecture Mayuzumi Sea Bream Carpaccio with Moringa Dressing" featured a moringa dressing with a slightly bitter taste that enhanced the flavor of the sea bream. The "Octopus and Abalone, Angel Shrimp, and Domestic Mushroom in a Pulgignon Style" was a luxurious and hot dish with chewy octopus and abalone that was perfect for pairing with wine. The white wine served with the next dish was a perfect match. The dish was "Tokushima Prefecture Pike Conger Eel and Edamame with Winter Melon Naïve." The fluffy pike conger eel was delicious as always, and the clear soup was packed with flavor. The next wine was paired with "Caviar and Tonburi Cold Somen Noodles." It was innovative to be able to enjoy my favorite somen noodles in this way. The noodles were smooth and refreshing, and the caviar flavor was excellent. The wines kept coming, and this pairing was luxurious and offered incredible value for money! The main meat dish was "Aomori Prefecture Tsugaru Duck Breast Roast with Wasabi Sauce." The juicy duck meat was complemented by the refreshing wasabi sauce. For the final rice dish, we had "Japanese-Style Foie Gras Donburi." A Japanese-style foie gras donburi was served at the end of the French course. The slightly sweet sauce and rich foie gras were a perfect match for the rice. I was delighted that the wine pairing even extended to dessert. The dessert was "Matcha and Valrhona Chocolate Opera." It was amazing to be able to enjoy Valrhona chocolate here. The matcha green color was also beautiful. We ended the meal with a relaxing cup of coffee. Each wine was perfectly paired with the food, making this the ultimate pairing experience. The portion size of each glass was also very satisfying, and the value for money was incredible. This restaurant has become one of my favorites, and I will definitely be back. Thank you for the meal!

I had no idea there was such a quiet and elegant restaurant right in the heart of bustling Shibuya. I've been to Ginza a few times, but this is the best in Shibuya! I heard they recently raised their prices a bit, but it's not a problem at all. The dumplings were absolutely delicious.

When it comes to wine in Shibuya, this is the only choice, no doubt. The location is right in the heart of Shibuya, with bustling crowds and a vibrant atmosphere, but the moment you step off the elevator, you're transported to another world. While there are some exclusive places that only members or certain celebrities can access, this establishment is open to everyone, allowing anyone to immerse themselves in the world of true luxury. It's a truly remarkable place. Whether you're feeling down, treating yourself, celebrating with friends, or rewarding your team, this restaurant is perfect for any occasion. Why? Because the furnishings inside are all extraordinary, from Mozart's handwritten sheet music to Roman artifacts and original paintings by famous artists. The thick carpets, high ceilings, and the only music played is opera. I can only express my gratitude to the owner for creating such a place in Shibuya. The food is also excellent, with no shortcuts taken. But the real highlight is the wine. It's perfect for sharing a bottle with 3-4 people or enjoying a variety of glasses by yourself. If you're a glass drinker, you might even encounter some extremely rare wines that are usually only sold by the bottle. (Though a glass can cost around 15,000 to 20,000 yen). However, considering the legendary five-generation chateaux and aged Burgundies, it's an experience worth having. I've lost count of how many times I've been here, so I'm combining the photos, but every visit is an incredible experience. This is truly a remarkable place. Whether you're a wine novice, a sommelier in training, or a senior sommelier, this restaurant is enjoyable for everyone. If you're looking for a quiet place to enjoy wine in Shibuya, I highly recommend this place!

The Shibuya branch of Sinoa has a completely different vibe from the Ginza one, and this was my first visit during the day. The champagne brunch is overall a great deal, delicious, and a relaxing experience. The food, like at the Ginza Sinoa, is a stable and easy-to-eat French cuisine that utilizes seasonal ingredients. The open and airy interior, a stark contrast to the cellar-like atmosphere of the Ginza location, was perfect for brunch. There were many groups of ladies. The service was slow. It's a place to relax and enjoy drinks, so being in a hurry would be out of place. The meat dish of the day was veal. It was delicious! I was very satisfied.

I think this is a unique type of restaurant for Shibuya… maybe! The interior is incredibly stylish and calming, giving off a vibe reminiscent of a restaurant near Tokyo Station. Everything was delicious, but personally, the Japanese-style foie gras donburi was outstandingly good! I think it would be a great place for a date. It's a valuable addition to Shibuya!
