I stopped by on a whim during my free time before catching the Shinkansen. I enjoyed a quick sake tasting. The tasting selection curated by the owner included: - Tochigi Phoenix Bida - Nara Imanishi - Yamagata Eikofuji And a side of yuzu salt-marinated cod roe. It was a bit late for lunch, so the restaurant wasn't crowded. Some people were leisurely enjoying their drinks, while others were savoring soba noodles. It's great to be able to enjoy a drink in the afternoon without any fuss. The salt-marinated cod roe was generous, which was a nice touch. Thank you for the meal.
I stopped by before boarding the Shinkansen. The last order is at 8:45 PM. I had the tempura soba, which was delicious and worth the price. The tempura was large and piping hot. I recommend this place to anyone interested.
Located near the exit of the Joetsu Shinkansen. We arrived around 11:40 am and managed to snag a seat. The soba noodles were surprisingly chewy. I didn't mind it, but my elderly companion found it a bit tough to chew. The mini tempura donburi was freshly fried and satisfying. The price was reasonable.
A mountain of tempura? This is the first time I've ever asked for a refill of dipping sauce! Located on the first floor of Tokyo Station in Gransta, with a 45-minute time limit! Every restaurant here is usually crowded, but even on a weekday at 5:30 PM, there was already a line of one group waiting. Perhaps because of the 45-minute time limit (last order 30 minutes before closing), we were able to get a table in about 3 minutes. The turnover rate is good. They also had an alcohol and appetizer menu, but with the limited seating time, it would have been a bit rushed to drink. The buckwheat flour is domestically produced, and the soba dipping sauce is made with a blend of dashi and aged soy sauce. ▶︎ What I ate ◎ Juroku Tempura Soba in a Masu (wooden box) ¥1,350 It arrived in 5 minutes. The tempura is so tall! It's about twice the size of the tempura you usually see. By the time I finished dipping it in the sauce, I had used up all of it (refills are available). This was delicious. I was satisfied! The soba noodles are cut soba. The sauce is a bit sweet? The wasabi was also minimal, so it was a bit bland for my taste, but it might appeal to those who prefer a more natural flavor. ▶︎ Customer demographics - Male to female ratio: 1:1 - Mostly "solo diners" and "colleagues" ▶︎ Crowds - Crowded even on weekdays - Reservations not available ▶︎ Seating types - Counter: Yes - Private rooms: No - Open seating: Yes
I was able to get in without waiting because it was around 11:30 on a weekday. The lunch menu was reasonably priced, which was great. Personally, I'm not a fan of yuzu in Japanese soba, but the tempura in the mini tempura donburi was crispy and I liked it. 2024/10
