We were the 16th group, but it didn't feel like we waited for 30 minutes. The 100% beef shoulder loin hamburger was delicious. The flavors were named after countries like Russia and France, which was fun! The photo shows the Japanese and Russian flavors. You could choose between a course with rice, a course with salad, or just rice. For 100% beef, this price is a steal! It was around 1200 yen. The salad, rice, miso soup, and pickles were about 470 yen, I think.
I visited "Jun Kissa Mountain," a classic coffee shop located in Asakusa, Taito-ku, Tokyo. There is no parking available. The exterior, and the interior for that matter, have a classic, old-fashioned coffee shop vibe rather than a modern, trendy one. Heated tobacco seems to be allowed. There were several fans, perhaps for ventilation. I ordered coffee and a shaved ice with Calpis. The Calpis was truly nostalgic and delicious. This is a famous shop that has been featured on television many times. I think it's worth experiencing the atmosphere. The menu features many traditional items, so I plan to come back and try more.
A Showa-era coffee shop in Asakusa. The shop is long and spacious. I ordered an anmitsu and a Napolitan. The Napolitan was pretty good. The anmitsu was also pretty good. I think the shop needs a little more organization.
A long-established coffee shop that has been featured on television. It's likely that electronic cigarettes are permitted. The old-fashioned melon soda is surprisingly large. The hotcakes are delicate and served with butter. I recommend adding the ice from the melon soda to the buttered hotcakes for a nice accent. Of course, other floats and parfaits are also good. The interior is spacious, and the second floor is apparently an okonomiyaki restaurant. It's unusual for a coffee shop to have such a wide selection of food.
Asakusa, a classic Japanese coffee shop. A taste of nostalgia. On a hot summer day, seeking refuge in a coffee shop. One of Asakusa's famous landmarks. I visited this shop frequently when I first started working, and after 15 or 20 years, I finally had the mountain (a popular dessert) again. The brightly colored sweets are a feast for the eyes. These classic coffee shops are more about the atmosphere than the taste. The melon soda with soft serve ice cream has a nostalgic sweetness. Asakusa... I love it. The nostalgic mountain... a trip down memory lane. I love Asakusa.
