My daughter and I visited. We had the seasonal limited meal and dessert, as well as the steamed chicken and vegetable donburi. Everything was absolutely delicious! The staff were very friendly, making it a comfortable place to be. I definitely want to go back.
After running errands, I was looking for a late lunch and stumbled upon this place for the first time. I went based on the good reviews, but I felt that the high expectations lowered the star rating. **Exterior:** Located on the upper floor of Marui. There are partitions with walls, but it's almost completely open to the hallway. **Atmosphere:** There's a raised seating area on the right as you enter, which was a haven for moms with babies and their friends. On the left, there are tables for two to four people. The tables are close together, so it's not easy to relax alone. Plus, I happened to be next to two Asian women who were talking very loudly and kept getting up, which was disappointing. **Food:** I chose the menu where you select three small dishes. The rice is brown rice, and you can customize your meal by choosing mostly vegetables for the small dishes. Everything was delicious. The soup was a pork and vegetable stew. You can choose the size of your rice from small to large, and you can also get a large bowl of the stew. You order by scanning a QR code with your phone. It's good that you can think about your order, but it's a bit of a hassle to scan. **Service:** The staff had a good vibe. One woman was handling most of the service, and she was very attentive to the Asian customers, which was a good impression. The person who came to the register was a man, and he seemed like he was just going through the motions. It was pretty standard. The food was good, but I wouldn't say it was healthy. I would have liked to see more vegetables in the small dishes. The atmosphere wasn't bad, but the tables are close together, so it depends on the situation.
The tea room in Marui, Ueno. I had a parfait, but it was more like an ice cream sundae than a parfait. It had three scoops of ice cream topped with caramel sauce, nuts, pie, and cookies. The drinks seemed larger than usual. The store had a high proportion of women and a calm atmosphere.
I visited for lunch. I tried to make a reservation online a week in advance, but it wasn't possible, so I thought it might be fully booked. However, when I went there on the day, I was able to get a table right away. I wasn't quite sure how the reservation system worked. The meals allow you to order rice in S, M, or L sizes, but the price remains the same. The small dishes are fun to choose from. The seasonal small dishes might be different from the photos, so it's best to ask before choosing. I wanted to relax and chat after finishing my meal, but it felt a bit uncomfortable, so I paid and left after an hour.
I had the 4-item deli meal set! I was able to choose 4 side dishes from a selection of 11. The side dishes change with the seasons, so there are many different combinations to enjoy!
