A cozy coffee shop tucked away in a traditional long house in Fukagawa. It's great that you can enjoy authentic coffee for under 500 yen! ( *´꒳`*) This small coffee shop in a traditional long house in the downtown area also sells art, kimonos, and antique goods. ——When I visited—— Weekend cafe ——Reservation—— No reservation Waiting time: about 20 minutes I arrived around 2:10 PM on Saturday, but it was full. I waited outside and was able to enter around 2:30 PM. You pay before you eat. ——Usage scene—— Solo ——Cost—— ¥1,000 - ¥1,500 ——Food—— ▶Bitter Chocolate Cake This crumbly gateau chocolat has a bitter flavor, and the chocolate sauce is rich and sweet. (⑉• •⑉)♡ The cake was average, but the coffee was delicious! ——Menu—— ◇Bitter Chocolate Cake ¥600 ▫️Hot Coffee +¥350 ※100 yen discount for the cake set ——Service—— The girl working there was expressionless, but not rude. She provided the minimum level of service. The owner seemed like a kind person. ——Value—— It's great that they have a dessert set! ——Atmosphere—— The space is quite small, with only three counter seats and two tables. There are accessories, stones, and antique goods on top of an old sewing machine, which are available for purchase. ——Revisit—— ★★☆☆☆ Maybe if I have the chance!
I visited on a weekday evening. There were two groups of women at tables and two men at the counter. The atmosphere was very comfortable. I ordered carrot cake and cardamom iced coffee. The carrot cake was a cute, steamed-bun-like shape and tasted delicious. The cream cheese on top was a perfect match! The cardamom iced coffee is a must-try for spice lovers. It was a refreshing taste perfect for summer. The restroom was also lovely.
I stopped by for lunch on a spring weekend. The lunch special that day was a gapao rice dish seasoned with shio koji (salt koji). The Japanese-style gapao with its fragrant perilla leaves was a perfect match for the rice, and it was delicious. The open door offered a view of the bustling street outside. The open atmosphere and Asian cuisine were a perfect match, creating a relaxed yet somehow powerful and comfortable space. The antique goods lined up in the corner of the entrance, though small, asserted themselves strongly. The cafe space had a slightly messy, almost studio-like atmosphere, which was interesting. It's a unique cafe. The indigo wall painting in the restroom was absolutely beautiful, so be sure to check it out.
◎First Visit: December 2023 On a Saturday afternoon, there was no wait. However, the compact space had only a few seats available. By the time we finished our meal, the place was full. The store also sells cute little trinkets, adding to the charming and relaxed atmosphere. For lunch, they offer a menu created by actress and culinary expert, Chizuko Ota. On this day, the choices were dry curry or Japanese-style gapao. The price of ¥1,000 (tax included) for a meal with a drink felt reasonable considering the quality and quantity of the food. They also had affogato and various cakes on the menu. It's a great place for a hearty meal or a light break. It's also suitable for solo diners or groups. a) Situation: - Visited around 12:09 PM on a Saturday - No wait, ordered and paid at the counter - Seated at a counter seat by the window b) Service: - Professional and polite. The staff smiled when we left. c) Order: - Dry curry with salt koji (fermented rice) @ ¥1,000 (tax included) - Drink: Hot coffee
I was drawn in by the stylish atmosphere of the restaurant. Everything looked delicious, but I ultimately decided on the salt koji dry curry and the seasonal black sugar and walnut tart. The dry curry was fantastic, with a runny egg that complemented the curry perfectly. The accompanying pickles were also incredibly tasty. The walnut tart was a delightful dessert, with crunchy walnuts and a sweet black sugar flavor balanced by a touch of salt. Everything was incredibly satisfying. There was one minor issue: the table I was seated at was quite high, almost reaching my chest, which made eating a bit awkward. A cushion or something to raise the chair would have been a welcome addition.
