I visited this place for the first time based on a recommendation from a friend of a colleague. I thought it was an Indian curry restaurant at first glance, but it turned out to be a Bangladeshi restaurant, my first experience with Bangladeshi cuisine. 🇧🇩 It's definitely Asian curry, though. 😅 My stomach was craving lamb or mutton, so I went in without hesitation. It's located in a nightlife district in Kinshicho, and it takes some courage to go in alone. The interior is like a grocery store, with shelves and only a five-seat counter. In a way, it fosters a sense of unity among customers. I ordered the Special Mutton Biryani Set, but it looked different from the picture on the sign! Everything except the chicken roast was on a single plate. 😅 The mutton biryani had a unique flavor that felt authentic, and the mutton was tough but didn't have any unusual smell. The chicken roast had a curry flavor and was about medium spicy. This was my favorite. The chicken was bone-in, and I had to carefully remove the bones with a spoon. I wish there were fewer bones left in my mouth. I recommend putting the chicken roast on top of the biryani. There was no choice of drinks, and a Coke came out automatically. Well, let's just say that kind of casualness adds to the authentic feel. You can get one refill of biryani. The staff said that the price of rice has gone up, which is a real problem. The banter between the owner and the cook, along with the Islamic-sounding music playing on YouTube, made me feel like I was in Bangladesh. This place isn't for the faint of heart, but if you go in with the mindset of trying street food, it's a decent experience. There were also regulars who seemed like they would definitely come back, so if you're curious, you should give it a try. 😁✨
This review is written from the perspective of someone who wants to experience Bangladesh. The walls are lined with items you'd find in a local supermarket, making you feel like you're in Dhaka. The food was delicious, especially the mashed fish dish (mas hbota). The rice was slightly stickier than what you'd find in Bangladesh, but from a Japanese perspective, it was still delicious. Pictures 1-3 show the all-you-can-eat option for 1,300 yen.
I arrived before 3 pm. The lunch menu, a smaller portion of biryani and chicken curry set plus a lassi, cost 1200 yen. The value for money is low. Having been to Bangladesh, I can compare and say the simple biryani was not very good, tasting like fried rice. In a positive light, it was light. Perhaps because I arrived late, the egg 🥚 that others have posted in photos was not on my plate. The menu I ordered was listed as 900 yen, but I paid 1200 yen. (I noticed this later.) Is the lassi an extra charge? Maybe it depends on the staff member, as they seem to change. I will confirm and add this information.
This place is a go-to when I'm craving something rough and tumble. The location itself is rough, to say the least. It's smack-dab in the middle of the red-light district. I wouldn't recommend it to women. That said, I've noticed some new, interesting sprouts popping up lately. Considering the menu used to be nonexistent, it's become a bit more friendly. Still, the food is a whim of the day, and the core hasn't changed. That's what I like about this place. This is what a diner is all about. It's so right. "Asia Curry House" This kind of place has its charm. You enjoy it with all its roughness and wildness. It was a bit crowded, but I happened to arrive just as customers were leaving. I sat at the end of the narrow counter, and before I knew it, everyone was gone. Roughly speaking, you have a choice between a set with biryani or a curry set with a few curries. I went for the curry. Fish curry, chicken curry, and bean soup. This orange thing, apparently mashed potatoes. The green one is a finely chopped chutney. Just right, a little spicy. The daal was good. Not too strong, not too bland. Sometimes you get daal that's like a vegetarian dish. I like that too. I feel like the daal and vegetable curry really show the character of the place. It was simple and had a lingering flavor. The chicken curry was simple, like something you'd eat daily. It had bones, so be careful of the sharp edges. Delicious. The fish curry was full of bones. No big deal. It's fish. Chopped fish is going to be like that. It's not like a fancy Indian restaurant or a smart Nepali place. It's wild. And that's okay. Delicious. The portions are big. That's part of the diner experience. In terms of experience, this place offers something you can't get anywhere else. I wouldn't recommend it, but it's interesting to go on a weekday night. You can taste the flavor of this town, including the atmosphere. I'll say it again, I don't recommend going late at night, but...
I made a rare trip to Kinshicho. My destination was this restaurant: Asia Curry House I visited because they serve Bangladeshi curry. Their specialty is: Special Mutton Biryani (¥1200) I love biryani, but this one was different. It was moist and very easy to eat. The bone-in chicken curry that came with it was delicious. It also came with a lassi, so I was very satisfied. The atmosphere of the restaurant was truly Asian. It was just like a Southeast Asian neighborhood restaurant. People who are used to it will be fine, but first-timers might be a little confused. Southeast Asian neighborhoods are exactly like this! It was like déjà vu. The TV was playing Bangladeshi programming. 😅💦💦 It was so exotic! 💯 For lunch, I always end up getting the Special Mutton Biryani. 😋 #KinshichoGourmet #Kinshicho #KinshichoLunch #Curry #KinshichoCurry #SpecialMuttonBiryaniAndEggAndChickenRoastCurrySet #AsiaCurryHouse
