A popular hidden gem cafe located in Kiyosumi Shirakawa, offering a cozy atmosphere that feels like visiting a friend's home. The interior has a retro vibe, reminiscent of a Ghibli film, showcasing the owner's meticulous attention to detail. I ordered butter toast, scones, and a cafe latte. My wife had cake and coffee. The desserts overall have a gentle and comforting flavor. You can also choose your preferred teacup for your hot coffee, adding a touch of luxury to your experience.
We visited with two people and ordered two coffees and one cake. Both the coffee and cake were delicious. However, the bill came out to 3,100 yen... Neither the coffee nor the cake seemed like they would cost 1,000 yen each... Was there a cover charge? They didn't confirm the order details when we paid, and we didn't receive a receipt. The owner seemed busy and it felt a bit awkward to ask questions.
The shop was a reflection of the owner's unique personality, both good and bad. I visited on a weekend afternoon around 4 pm. The shop was almost full, and I had to wait a bit before being seated. I took off my shoes at the entrance and put on slippers, feeling like I was entering someone's home. The small shop had a counter and a couple of tables, and a woman seemed to be running the whole place by herself. The lighting was dim and cozy, and the shop was filled with a strange mix of various kinds of knick-knacks. Only cash payments were accepted, and the small space meant I had to be careful about how loudly I spoke. I ordered a homemade cake (pumpkin-skin baked pudding-style) and a "white" medium-light roast coffee. The coffee was brewed one cup at a time with a hand drip method. It took about 10 minutes for my order to arrive. The cake was homemade and had a subtle sweetness, which I enjoyed. It came with cookies and what seemed to be chestnut whipped cream, making it a filling and satisfying treat. The coffee was also delicious and smooth. The only downside was the service. The owner seemed to be very particular about providing the best possible experience for her customers, and I witnessed her snapping at customers who interrupted her while she was working. It made me feel quite uncomfortable (my companion was actually told off by the owner and was a bit offended). Also, I was sitting at a table that wobbled quite a bit, making me worried that my coffee would spill.

The interior is very calm and the owner is lovely, creating a comfortable space! This time, I ordered the pumpkin baked cheesecake and sweet potato that I was curious about. The pumpkin baked cheesecake is cute to look at ✨ It's sweet and gentle, and it's richer and more filling than it looks. It's great to eat alone or share! It seems that you might not be able to get it depending on the availability of ingredients, so if you're looking for pumpkin sweets, it's recommended to check in advance🙆♂️ The accompanying scones were crispy and had a slightly sweet, comforting flavor 😋 The sweet potato was delicious with its rich sweet potato flavor and moist texture, which I loved. It goes well with iced coffee. There are other desserts on the menu that use whole ingredients that you can't find anywhere else, and they all looked so tempting! It's nice that you can enjoy different sweets depending on the availability of ingredients ✨ ✂︎〰︎〰︎〰︎〰︎〰︎〰︎〰︎〰︎
The atmosphere of the shop and the quality of the sweets were excellent! The only downside was that the limited seating made it difficult to linger, but if you go with the intention of enjoying delicious sweets and drinks, it's definitely worth it! When I went, the shop was narrow and the customers were close together, but maybe it was because the customers at that time were well-mannered, but I didn't feel it was noisy! It felt like I was on a trip while listening to music 😍 People were coming and going, so I felt it was a popular shop!
