I've known about this place for over 15 years and always wanted to try it, but I never had the courage to go in. 🥹 Today, I finally took the plunge and was greeted by a calm and cozy atmosphere. The lighting was a bit dim, creating a very comfortable space. ☺️ The staff had a great vibe and were very welcoming. I don't drink coffee often, but they had such a wide selection that I decided to try a black coffee. ☕︎ It was deep and had a clean finish, absolutely delicious! The gateau chocolat was also amazing! 😍 The outside was like a soft chocolate and the inside was moist and rich. It paired perfectly with the coffee. 😊 A little later, the person next to me started smoking a cigarette. Even though there was a partition, the smoke drifted over to my side, which was a bit disappointing. 🥹 I didn't know it was a smoking establishment. It would be even better if it were non-smoking, ♡ but I guess it's a great place for smokers, especially since so many places are now smoke-free. I definitely want to go back for more coffee and gateau chocolat! Thank you! ✨
The coffee is delicious. It's a bit pricey though. The atmosphere inside the shop is fantastic, almost identical to other locations in the same chain. It's a smoker's paradise, but it might be hell for non-smokers. The manager is not very friendly, but that might be a good thing for those who don't care about that. Ultimately, it comes down to personal preference.
A hidden gem of a stylish cafe in Harajuku. It might be more fitting to call it an elegant coffee shop rather than a cafe. The interior, furniture, music, lighting, and branding are all well-thought-out in this coffee shop. It's a place where you can enjoy coffee in a relaxed atmosphere in Harajuku. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but the refined coffee is worth it. They offer a variety of beans from different origins and brewing methods. Coffee lovers will absolutely adore this place. The tableware is also very cute, but photography is prohibited, so if you're interested, be sure to visit Harajuku.
This was a very sophisticated and mature cafe. The menu listed the blend ratios for their coffees, and they had a selection of specialty items like Vietnamese coffee, which is what you'd expect from a specialty shop. My companion and I each ordered a standard blend, one with a strong, bitter flavor and the other with a clean, crisp taste. The bitter one was indeed bitter, but it had a rich aroma. My crisp one was also easy to drink and had a rich aroma. We also ordered a Kirsch Torte, which came with a generous amount of cream. I usually imagine Kirsch Torte as having a chocolate sponge cake with Kirschwasser, and dark cherries on top of the whipped cream and in the cake itself. But this one had a heavy, pale base with Kirsch-flavored cherries inside. It was my first time trying this kind of Kirsch Torte, and it was delicious. All the dishes today were Richard Ginori. I love their dishes, so just looking at them made me happy. The coffee was carefully brewed, the atmosphere was calm, and the dishes were beautiful. The music playing softly was Ave Maria, the nostalgic "Yumemiru Shanson Ningyo" (Dreaming Doll), and Michel Polnareff. Outside the window, there were two large turtles in a big jar. Apparently, they were grown from the small turtles you see at festivals. The cafe is located on a narrow street just off the main road. It's been around since 1979, and my companion, who had visited it a long time ago, said they had been wanting to come back. This cafe has become a place I want to visit again too.
I visited Hananidorobou, a historic cafe in Harajuku. The name is interesting, so I wanted to go. Most coffees are over 900 yen. The atmosphere is truly cafe-like and wonderful. The coffee is delicious, and I highly recommend it to those who want to enjoy a cafe and relax.
