I visited for lunch on Sunday. I arrived around 2:00 PM, but had to wait for 20 minutes. I wondered why the wait was so long, but then I noticed that the menu mentioned a 30-minute wait for the釜飯 (kamameshi), the sukiyaki set also takes time, and the grilled fish takes 20 minutes. It seems like everything takes a while to prepare. If you're not a patient person, you might want to be aware of this. I ordered the sashimi set, and it arrived in about 15 minutes, which was faster than I expected. The food was very delicious. The portions were just right. However, I thought the seasoning was a bit strong.
Seasonal Kamameshi (Saury and Maitake Mushrooms) The red miso was rich and delicious. The sashimi was small in quantity but of good quality. The kamameshi was lightly flavored, so it might be bland for those who prefer junk food. (The bean sprouts on the top left were also strong in flavor, creating an imbalance. They were a bit too assertive compared to the other dishes. I personally found them jarring. They reminded me of the appetizers served at an izakaya.) The chawanmushi was ordinary.
Visited in May 2024. This restaurant has a relaxed seating arrangement, creating a calm atmosphere perfect for enjoying a meal. I tried their Kamameshi (rice cooked in a pot) and seafood hitsumabushi (a dish of grilled eel and rice). The wasabi-flavored baby clams were delicious, topped with a coarse grated radish. The crab and yuba (tofu skin) Kamameshi was delicately flavored and very tasty. When it was served, I stirred the rice from the bottom, but there was no crispy rice (okage). However, after letting it sit for a while, a nice crust formed. The seafood hitsumabushi had delicious sashimi, but it was marinated in soy sauce, which I found a bit overpowering. There was soy sauce on the table, so I would have preferred to add it myself. The dish came with grated yam (tororo) and broth for flavor variations, as described in the instructions. However, both the tororo and broth were quite strong in flavor. The dried tofu (kōnodofu) was delicately seasoned, but the sauce on top was again quite salty. I understand that the dishes are seasoned to go well with alcohol, as it's an izakaya (Japanese pub), but considering the pleasant atmosphere, I would have preferred a lighter seasoning. There is no restroom inside the restaurant. There are four-seater tables, raised seating with a sunken hearth (horigotatsu), and individual seats facing the same direction.
A restaurant that's not crowded even on Fridays. I was able to make a reservation even on a Thursday afternoon. It's directly connected to the station, making it very accessible. Plus, it's not uncomfortably crowded, so I highly recommend it. You can enjoy both the food and drinks leisurely and calmly. It was my first time visiting, but it was really great. I want to come back again, and next time I want to bring a different group of people. It's that kind of place. Thank you for the delicious meal.
I made a reservation for a course with all-you-can-drink! Is this place new? The restaurant is clean and spacious, with a bustling izakaya vibe. The sashimi was surprisingly good! The vegetables were delicious! The tempura was a bit underwhelming, but everything else was pretty good. The only disappointment was the serving dish for the final rice dish. The bottom dish, which had been stacked on top of another, was used. When I told the staff that it had been used, they simply replaced it. Maybe it was because it was a part-timer, but they didn't seem to care. What?! That's how they do things? I was a little taken aback. I think they need to do some staff training. Thank you for the meal.
