My long-awaited visit to Sarabeth's! This was my first time at this location. It's on the second floor of a building near the Yaesu Exit of Tokyo Station, and you can take the elevator right to the entrance. They're known for their morning meals, so they open at 9 am. I made a reservation online for a course. (I think you can't reserve a table on weekends unless you order a course.) The course I booked included a chilled corn soup, an egg benedict (you could choose between plain or smoked salmon), and a sweet option (French toast, pancakes, or milk bread). They also had alcoholic drinks, so I opted for champagne. The other patrons were all very refined, and the atmosphere was lovely. Of course, the food was absolutely delicious. I went there for breakfast after arriving on an overnight bus. I definitely want to go back again.
I tried to make a reservation online that morning, but it was already unavailable, so I went directly to the restaurant at 10:00 am on Sunday. Since I didn't have a reservation, I had to wait for about 30 minutes before being seated at a counter on the third floor. They recommended an outside terrace seat, but it was still very hot that day, so I politely declined (there were other customers sitting outside, and they looked uncomfortably hot). There were also quite a few tourists from overseas. I ordered the ¥3,500 half-course. It was delicious, but the restaurant was cramped and the price was not worth it. I think I'll only visit once.
I often visit this place for lunch during work breaks. Everything on the menu is delicious. It's a valuable spot because there aren't many places around Tokyo Station that serve hearty sandwiches. Today, I tried the avocado toast for the first time. It's one of the lighter options at Sarabeth's. It comes with a green salad, so I recommend it if you don't want a heavy meal. The top is generously topped with burrata cheese. The nutty texture was also great, and it was very delicious. I arrived around 12:30 pm on a weekday and was able to get a seat without waiting. (Reservations are available even for lunch.)
In conclusion, I would definitely come back if I have the chance. I made a reservation online and arrived at 9 am on Sunday morning, right when they opened. At that time, there were about 20 groups waiting without reservations, so I highly recommend making a reservation beforehand. For 3800 yen, the food was as pictured. The atmosphere inside was lively and casual, which I enjoyed. Thank you for the meal.
Reservations are highly recommended as there's usually a line. It gets crowded, so you won't be able to relax. The food isn't particularly outstanding, and the bread for the French toast wasn't very good.
